I wonder what type of mega engineering project that it would be for creating roads and train tracks in between islands.
Tasmanian ferry system would be of interest to you I think.
Why can't Americans speak English properly? "Hawaii is its most unique". Cringe. "Unique" means that something is one of a kind; that there is nothing else like it. If there is something else like the subject, then it is not unique. It is therefore a binary. There are not degrees of uniqueness; something is either unique or it is not.
Sounds like a bunch of political nonesense, stopping a good thing for people.
I can only imagine what it would be like in a place with a non-existing population.
I'm going to call BS on the environmental concerns. Ferries can use jet propulsion or hoover technology.
It sounds like they should sail slower, and give night sail service instead of daytime service.
17:18 The Sidney route shown here has been indefinitely suspended due to a shortage of worthy vessels.
8:55 Maybe one day there will be a young Globzorpion, that reaches the peak of Maui or huh Big Island on this completely desolate rock in the distant future. And it will think to itself that it must be the first living species to ever be there. And if we never make it off this damn rock, we can never tell it how wrong it is. Unless we did make it. And then made it with a bunch of other 'far out' beings until we became Globzorpions. I don't know why my future has a 60's theme. Or even where I came up with Globzorpion. But I really do like this keyboard.
I guess this video might as well be called "Why you wouldn't want to take a ferry around Hawaii".
Fun fact: Prudhoe Bay is in terminal decline. Oil extraction peaked at over 2 million barrels per day in 1988 but now is less than 1/2 million / day. Fossil fuels are finite.
I don't know what you're talking about, there are lots of fairies in Hawaii. 🤣
I live on Oahu and this was very informative. Well researched
When he said Alaska rich, Hawaii poor. So true!
We come from plantation roots.
Dole from Dole Pineapples. Yeah that guy was a dick!
He and several other white businessmen overthrew Queen Liliokalani and the Hawaiian government, with protection from the US Army, because they didn't like paying the import tax on their goods since Hawaii wasn't a state at the time.
I liked almost every content you did, but in this one it seems the interested parts did so good at their narratives that you took the bait. The reasons you point out are absolutely pointless if you use example of functional archipielagos like Canary Islands in Spain, where you can move to every island in ferry and being the distance even larger than hawais and with a similar layout
Wow, from New England,. US here, I just thought it would be a given, ferry service between the islands. I visit the Philippines, a country much poorer than the US and they have RORO's between almost every island.
Prices in Alaska and Hawaii I suspect are comparable, but without the Alaska Marine Hwy, Alaskan prices would be incomprehensible to folks in the continental USA
i havent watched the video yet but i am sure like most things in America it has to do with corruption
OH THIS VIDEO GONNA TRIGGER SOME FOLKS
Other societies are not as corrupt, hypocritical, or as stupid as Hawaii. This place is a fiefdom for oligarchic monsters, overseeing a a serfdom of fat, Spam-addicted, tattooed idiots.
At 1:02 we hear the clunky phrase "Majorly populated." Oy.
What is this, a high school book report?
Take a remedial English class, narrator.
18:00 Why don't they just subsidize work, then you wouldn't need to go anywhere in the first place. I'm seriously kidding, seriously.
Puget: Pew-jet, not Poo-jet 😂
I thought, location—is that not a natural resource? It seems pretty natural, and it's certainly a resource. Extremely limited, at that. Maybe that's why it's not considered a natural resource—because there's only one. I suppose that could open the floodgates, leading some people to claim they have a natural resource that they have the right to sell. Not to mention wanting protection from the local government. That's a hole lot to protect.
AI generated crap
Gee Whiz, the local air carriers no doubt used astro-turfed environmental issues to kill this, just consider the revenue loss if it had to compete with ferry services. Also you left out the fact that the whole place is a fat city, serving elite tourists.
