the end is the only part that doesn't quite work for me. I understand it's still about subverting expectations, but it makes no real sense – they fought to keep the fool alive because he doesn't want to die. So instead they let evil gods kill everyone in the world including the fool. So how does it make sense letting everyone in the world die just to give the fool another few minutes of life?

You might have seen Pixar’s ”Coco” since you have kids, but if not that is also a movie you absolutely should watch. Takes place on Día de los Muertos, around November 1 – 2, and would be perfect to start off the month.

Another year successfully completed 👏. Come a long way since the sixth sense, Alien and Silence of the lambs. Would love to see you carry on with the Hannibal Lecter series of movies.
This years best jump scare was definitely from the village. When the creature started running after Bryce dallas Howard's character, I've never seen Cassie that petrified in all the years of the scary October movie runs. Hope it makes the list at the Poppies.
Fun Fact: Fran Kranz who played Marty (the stoner) is in incredible shape, so in the scene where they were all in the lake shirtless he didn't 'go in' because his physique would have shattered the 'reality' of who his character is.
Probably should've watched Evil Dead first
I remember seeing this in the theatre and almost pissing myself laughing when Hemsworth smashes into the forcefield
He hit the same wall with the dirt bike as the eagle did earlier remember you didn’t know what happened to the eagle. It’s some kind of invisible force wall.
This is a movie that you show people that think they're watching a horror movie but in reality its a dark comedy love it
