@35.36 why is it the appraiser's don't credit the indigenous bowl makers for designing the foot of the bowl? Saying they copied it from a colonial item is insulting to say the least. Academics, "scholars" & "intellectuals" etc. have said the same of most all ancient cultures, portraying them as dull & not very bright when in fact the opposite is true. Get over yourselves already. JFC on a bike!
The solution to the indian problem in history should have been full intergration.
Uplifting native peoples to the status of an average American would have prevented the current issues these populations have had to experience.
I agree uplifting the losers of a culture war a century after the events seems to reaffirm the "first loser" status of these "first peoples" in unintended ways.
Calling some baskets and beads "treasures" is quite a stretch as well.
