It’s Mind-blowing! SpaceX revealed NEW INSIDE Starship factory manufacturing Shocked NASA…
In the heart of Texas, SpaceX’s new Starship factory at Starbase represents a revolutionary leap in aerospace manufacturing. Drawing inspiration from Tesla’s gigafactories, this state-of-the-art facility is designed to transform rocket production from a slow, individual process into a rapid, assembly-line operation. Where traditional aerospace manufacturers might spend months crafting a single rocket, SpaceX’s new facility aims to produce multiple Starships simultaneously, dramatically reducing both production time and costs.
In the livestream of Starship’s fifth launch, once again, we had the chance to witness new views inside SpaceX’s massive factory. From here, part of the factory’s operations have been revealed.
Let’s find out on today’s episode of Alpha Tech:
It’s Mind-blowing! SpaceX revealed NEW INSIDE Starship factory manufacturing Shocked NASA…
In the early stages of Starship production, SpaceX relied on a temporary setup using large tents to manufacture its prototypes. These tents were chosen for their flexibility, allowing SpaceX to quickly establish a production line without needing to commit to a permanent facility. The temporary setup enabled the team to experiment freely with different designs and production processes, an important factor given that Starship was an entirely new type of spacecraft with no established blueprint.
This flexibility proved to be a major advantage during the initial phases. Without a rigid infrastructure, SpaceX could rapidly adjust its manufacturing techniques based on immediate feedback from test flights and real-time assessments. If a particular design didn’t perform well, the team could modify or scrap it and try something else without facing major downtime or costly reconstruction. This approach enabled SpaceX to iterate quickly and learn from each version, which was critical in refining Starship’s complex design.

However, the tent system came with significant environmental challenges. Located at Starbase, Texas, the tents were exposed to mud, dust, and wildlife, which created an unclean and inefficient work environment. These open conditions made it difficult to maintain the high precision and cleanliness necessary for aerospace manufacturing. The constant exposure to dirt and debris complicated the production process and highlighted the need for a more controlled environment, leading Elon Musk and SpaceX to plan for a dedicated, purpose-built Starship factory to streamline operations and improve production quality.
That’s when Star Factory was born. With a new design and new operating procedures, Star Factory is now in production of Starship V2.

  1. Good Morning my Friend. Hydroforming Stainless steal on an object that massive is a technique He had to develop. That's insane. I wish I could see the process. I've been in manufacturing my entire life. This has to be a drop in the bucket to the new manufacturing processes Elon Has developed. Great Episode. Very Educational. Tell me more about the manufacturing processes. You're in my wheelhouse. Again Great Episode. Have a Great Day my Friend.

  2. The one advantage of this system you did not mention…. point to point travel, where you can fly from lets say the UK to Australia in less than it takes to get from Scotland to London which is around 6 to 7 hrs and by plane hrs and hrs.. Every year I'd fly to the USA for my vacation, that's a journey of 10 to 12hrs, albeit I don't think I'd be able to afford to fly on it as it would cost more than it would to fly on concord and in today's prices that would be a one way trip costing about Β£12k.
The booster itself has scope to launch all sorts if coupled with a cheap non reusable stage or two, think Saturn 5 on steroids with the main powerhouse being the only reusable unit,. heck you could send up over 200 tons probably, even a full moon shot..
The future of this system allows for many verients.

  3. The "Orbital Orca" is born, it will grow a lot bigger in its life time…

Also production will morph as they go.
Its still crude, but they learn every day…

And there's starting to be a herd of straggler startups chasing after SpaceX, and starting to be all kinds of side ventures related to it.
We are looking at the birth of an actual new industry. Beyond the experimental phase and individual production era.

This will go like other major industries in human history..

Ship building, Vehicles, Aircraft, now being built all over the planet.

Space ships will be the same thing only different, its not gonna be limited to just Earth's surface…
With them, we can start building even bigger things in orbit, on the Moon, and even on or around Mars…

And as they are still figuring out, Raptor 3 engines are the new paradigm, the engine that changed everything.
Evidently they recently test fired one 34 times in ten minutes, thats a 17 plus second cycle time. And likely had some off time, so firing in 10 to 15 second bursts..
What that means is they can rapid fire and space out burns, and get around the old throttling problem in rocket engines.

And if burst firing two or more engines, can adjust thrust pretty steadily for a fraction of one engine, up to several full time for things like landings.

Its another dimension to thrust control.

Also they have finally realized the engines could be used as directional thrusters. Sure their control from the tail model will evolve over time, and eventually we'll see Raptor like remote thrusters. And when that happens the hull designs will start to advance too. And with more developed hulls, will come different construction and production methods.
Which will require new factories. As the ships will be alot different in size and shape.

Also going bigger, they will need thicker hulls, and get more substantial structure to them. Right now they are like flying beer cans. but the volume goes up 4x every time you double the diameter… And the first doubling is supposedly planned with V-3….
At 18 meters, around 60 ft. thats a pretty fair area in floor space per deck. Your average decent sized house.

And I'm currently living in almost a tiny house at 20 ft square. Meaning a single deck would feel like a barn floor in comparision, and there will be a stack of them, and they'll fly super sonic…

And we could see future models run decks the other direction, if they use remote thrusters and angled launches.

Pretty awesome tech coming, and it wont be slow. And everybody else will have to jump in to get a piece of market share. Making ships and everything else to go with the Space Industry.

Its a new economy. And an open ended one, infinite growth potential. the only limit is velocity, and the speed of light is more likely a barrier than an actual limit.

Only gets better from here, unless you let the Cat Lady types stop it.

    Decision in a week…
    Your vote counts.
We need to send the world a signal that we are serious about this.
Elon has been working hard to help on this Election.

This ship, makes this election the most important in history.

Dont let them stop our ships from happening.

  4. Hydroforming isn't an exact process. Predicting springback on multi contoured parts can be an iterative process. I Haven't been in the industry for quite a while but I'm guessing computers help in predicting. Also the material itself isn't always consistent.

  5. Elon is clearly smarter than the average bear, however, like every idio-savant, he's incapable of understanding the "human" process for interactions among, well; people.
He also needs to focus on the reality, that Trump in all likelihood, won't win this election… and his Security Clearance will probably come under review and possible suspension…
Why you ask? LOL the answer is one word: "Putin".

  6. This is again repetitive posting. Much of the video is from the Everyday Astronaut interview with Musk who did a complete walk / video around the interior of the new factory. What hasn't been answered is where Musk intents to store all these projected boosters and starships.

  7. I understand that this IS mind-blowing, but this is not new and does not need to be included in nearly every title. The same with "SHOCKED". This did not shock NASA. Please try to refrain from the sensational headlines and just bring us up to date. You have a great channel, don't ruin it.

Only religious make difficult to see the environment where humans evolve because economical and power cinycal conviniency. So are the guilt of dirty politicians and corrupted obsolete military that divide lands of the world for their own thirsty need of blood and war instead conquest of new worlds and relations with other civilizations. These people disciples of evil commanding today on the White House and the EU together with their followers are just the accomplice in horror of dead and wars all over the world. Are you one of them, or the others.?…

  10. I still have my mind, it's not been blown…………again! Stop being a sensationalist and start providing facts that are new and pertinent to the ongoing story of the SpaceX revolution. They don't need hyping up, their actions do that for them. We don't need hyped up headlines hiding regurgitated news from other respectful reporters. We want fresh new unique reporting where somebody has made an effort to investigate the facts. Have a word with Tim Dodd, Felix Schlang or The NSF team. You know,………the ones who allow their faces to be seen because they are legitimate reporters and purveyors of worthy news…..
