  1. I overheard some nurses in the hospital today saying a lot of insurance companies are starting to refuse to cover their Teslas and EVs more generally.
For one they have an incredible amount of weight to them and since Force = mass x velocity EVs hit much harder in collisions even at lower speeds compared with conventional engines. As a result the damages and injuries are far greater in collisions with EVs, not to mention the possibility of the batteries igniting and all the extra electronics being smashed and requiring much more intensive repairs.

  2. I'm curious to see stats on collisions involving EVs vs. conventional engines in regards to injuries and fatalities sustained in a collision.
Anecdotally there have been a few collisions recently where the occupants of the EVs were a total, or near total loss. All to say nothing of the relative frequency of EVs igniting in collisions. Since Force = Mass x Velocity and EVs are so heavy due to their batteries the force of impacts involving EVs are much higher even at lower speed. I'm not at all convinced they are safe.

  3. Elon supports Donald.

Now a routine car accident goes into the shocking details of ‘Class D’ combustible metals fires.

For the sake of climate change, the full story of car batteries was never pursued so vigorously.

  4. I'm not a fan of EVs, but what does this sad happening have to do with the vehicle being battery powered? With the amount of damage done, even an ICE vehicle would most likely have burned.

  5. I live right at the corner of a very stupid and dangerous intersection. In the last 9 years, I have seen over 50 vehicular accidents at this intersection. At least 15 of them involved a burning vehicle. At least 18 involved fatalities. NONE of them, not even ONE of them involved a Tesla or any other EV for that matter.
