Hurricane Milton strikes the Florida Gulf Coast between Tampa Bay and Fort Myers as a Category 3 storm with incredible storm surge flooding, high winds, and a huge tornado outbreak. We document powerful storm surge flooding of multiple neighborhoods in Venice and Siesta Key. High eyewall winds hit Venice hard causing power flashes from electric lines and downed many trees and utility poles. We shot drone footage of the roof of Tropicana Field, Home of the Tampa Bay Rays MLB team, torn to shreds by strong winds. Milton was the 5th landfalling Gulf of Mexico hurricane in the United States in 2024. We measured 959.6 mb minimum pressure in the calm eye of Milton near Sarasota and Vamo, FL.

My parents rent #39 every winter. Surprisingly they only had a few inches of water come inside the house. It also had a secondary roof so even though it lost part of the roof, it stayed dry.

Hey, watching from the UK, we don't get any bad weather at all. Some heavy rain now and again so this stuff is fascinating to watch. We had some strong winds yesterday, but only enough to blow my hair in the other direction 😂

Good thing homeowners insurance is plentiful and inexpensive. Surely collecting your full coverage checks and rebuilding will show those woke scientists that have said florida will become uninhabitable that theyre just wrong. Its also good to know the folks you voted for have voted AGAINTS funding storm relief, so all the aftermath, the help you need and will not get, is all on you.
