I think Coach McGuire has been a great hire. Early this season, I was frustrated with the slow start. We also started slowly last season as well. I know a lot of fans were frustrated with our 1st 2 games. Coach evidently listened, and he made sure that some important changes were made. Now, the team is where we thought they should be. Coach recruits at a great level and has since his hiring. If he can clean up the slow season starts and finally get the Raiders to win consistently on the road (previous coaches have struggled with as well), he could easily become our winningest coach in program history!!! LET'S GOOOOOOO!
Sounds like Aranda is politely saying “we’ve played the 3 best conf teams competitively and Tech has played the worst 3 conf teams. Now we get the cupcakes Tech has played.” So we need to go out and prove him wrong. And I’m sure they remember Blanchard’s dumb comment when Baylor flipped one of our recruits.

Joey McGuire has been a huge success for Texas Tech. He's done things no other previous coach had ever done…like beating UT and OU in the same year.

We'll see how this season shakes out….and the next thing to find out is can this team handle a little success? Yeah they had a decent season…I'd grade it is a B+ so far…lot of things to improve, so no reason to get fat and happy…still havent accomplished anything.
I got kind of sleepy watching that Aranda clip. I wonder if that's a problem in the locker room. I'm not sure Aranda losing his job would be so great. That seems like the kind of job Traylor at UTSA might be looking for.
McGuire has reenergized this program. It was dead from last two years of Kliff through Wells era. Also liked the AD shoutout. Glad he’s alive.

As a really smart guy once said, "success has many fathers, but failure is an orphan!" I think it's funny when people say so and so was the previous coaches' team even though they were likely fired. 🙂
Never liked Jake Spavital. He's just not nearly as good a coach as people think he is. He'll run an ok offense, but it will never be great.
Dave Aranda has a guaranteed job somewhere, as a DC or LB coach. UTSA, TTU, Nebraska. Someone will make room for him.
And Joey is the right coach for Tech. I don't know how long it'll take for him to get really good, but this is a staff that can grow year over year.
