  1. I was driving through the May 1999 tornado, I had just left the outlet mall in Stroud, Oklahoma. My sister had called me and asked where I was, because a tornado was coming. I thought she was teasing me, because it was sunny, no clouds in the sky. Within 15 minutes the temperature dropped, then there was some hail, next it felt like something just hit my car that I almost lost control and then it got jet black dark. I couldn't even see the 18 wheeler that was in front of me. I started praying and I was sitting straight up both hands on the steering wheel. I kept wondering if I should pull over but I couldn't tell where, because it was so dark. Finally after what seemed like forever, I could finally see light and the temperature inside was getting back to normal. By the time I got back to my base, I was a nervous wreck, my room mate said I looked like I had seen a ghost, I couldn't even tell her at first what happened. One of the Master sergeants that was in our building saw me and he went back into his room and brought out his bottle of Jim Beam and had me take a swig and after almost choking, I was able to tell what had happened. Then the very next day in a base a couple of F-2 came on back, but they only moved a couple of the static displays a few inches.
