Here is a tip: instead of using Just brakes, use the engine to slow down. Leave it in 1st gear, no clutch, just let it roll without accelerating and gently apply brakes. And if you want traction, AVOID BRAKE-LOCKING!!! Let the wheels unlock and then apply brakes again
You're sliding because you're locking the wheels. Let off the brake and allow the wheels to turn and you won't slide off the mountain as bad.
