Sam Perkins didn’t hear from his parents for two days after Hurricane Helene, so he set out on an 11-mile journey through North Carolina’s mountains to make sure they were OK. MORE: https://trib.al/S4jThnF
—————–
One man trekked 11 miles to check on his parents after Hurricane Helene ravaged North Carolina, and he didn’t hear from them for two days.
Sam Perkins said on “NewsNation Now” that the situation in Ashville is “dire.”
“Getting supplies up there, getting people in or out, is going to be really difficult to do for a while, because all the routes, one way or another, have washed out, bridges and roads landslides,” Perkins said. “They’re really sitting on an island right now in the area between Asheville and Boone.”

Only 11 miles, lol? It’s his fucking percents. I’d hope that you’d all do the same.

Thank u for being a blessed loving son. U r a treasure to ur parents and God. ❤❤❤
God bless you.
We drove up to Boone last night to drop water and gas to my husband's sister in Wilkesboro. Boone is so sad! I don't think we'll be able to travel to Asheville, but I have seen military convoys and helicopters in a steady stream. Those good people aren't going to be stuck for much longer with all the wonderful folks in the surrounding areas who are usually the ones affected by hurricanes, sending aid, supplies, and support. #NCStrong
Praying for you all. Hey everyone, contribute to Samaritans purse if you don’t know what else to do.
Love motivated him to walk that far that fast and make it ❤ God bless them and all the other's effected by Hurricane Helene
You're a quality human.

Amen young man, a 3 hour hike must have been frightening with all the devastation and then getting there to see your family again is a relief for everyone 😊
