The Zhou-class vessel, designed to enhance China’s maritime power, sank at Wuchang shipyard near Wuhan in May or June. The incident, initially concealed by Chinese authorities, was uncovered through satellite imagery. US officials raised concerns about China’s military oversight. This setback could delay China’s plans to expand its nuclear submarine fleet. Palki Sharma tells you how this incident highlights the shortcomings of the Chinese military.

  1. Ci's Naval staff was heard singing the Beatles song we all live in a yellow submarine before it sunk. The staff should have removed the speaker wires and closed the hatches for setting out under the sea.

  2. Maybe them not having any war experience is the blame for all their military mess ups. Because I'm thinking your nuclear submarine should be your top of the line thing in the Navy

  3. This is almost as stupid as the Indian commander giving the order to dive and the crew not closing the hatches on a brand new nuclear sub which filled up with sea water causing damage to the pipes and nuclear reactor is this brand new sub. Honestly, I don't suggest either of you going to War because your going to make a bloody big mess of it all. The End. Good-Luck and Good-Bye. Amen. Shalom. AD. The Teacher.

  4. Give us all a break from your childish statement, as you think America does not have failures. Well look it up sunshine your bra-strap is showing? America has lost 5 submarines, so as I said do some bloody research before insulting a whole nations ability to build?

  6. in 44 years since the Vietnam it has not fought any war. Thanks for confirming this peace loving nation. I think I trust China more than the other nation that has fought wars in almost all the years of its existence……

  7. There is zero proof it’s nuclear. The location is too shallow for a nuclear sub. The river where this place is located is way too shallow.

Nuclear subs have a minimum draught. The river is shallower than the draught of the sub.

Sometimes, stop picking up news WITHOUT facts.

India is still very poor. Fix that.
