Willie, Sarah and their dogs, Jack Spaniels & Nori, continue their biggest adventure yet – leaving suburban life and moving over the sea to a remote cottage on the Isle of Skye, off the west coast of the Scottish Highlands.
This week, the Skye Lifers are finally back out in Betty the Boat, after 7 weeks of terrible Scottish summer weather, and are hoping to catch something tasty for the table, back in their 200 year old cottage.
We also show you how we go about stocking up the cottage kitchen – not just with seafood, but with homegrown veggies and during a day of errands to the island’s biggest town.
Thanks for watching & see you in the next video!

The doggies are so cute and funny!! They are beautiful pups.
Thanks for another great episode. Did you know that errands are also called messages in Northern Ireland? And the word 'wee' is used whenever you want, wherever you want, and not purely in relation to something small. For example, if you're out in the boat and catch a fully grown whale (which should get you plenty of views so get a bigger hook and give it a try) you'd say you caught a wee whale. Just thought you might like to know, and you did ask for comments, after all . . . 👍🤗 PS: Pease say Hi to Jack and Nori from one of your wee viewers.
Air fryer is brilliant for making croutons 👍
In Skye for the week and have yet to run into you two!
Woo-hoo, another honesty box! 😁
I must have missed it in an earlier video, but is there a significance of that particular painting popping up in the back of each outro?
I was really looking forward to my visit to Skye and it is beautiful but the wall to wall vehicles (one of which was mine to be fair) spoiled it. Love your videos nonetheless 👍
Hi Pet. I came over your vids by accident and I'm really happy I did. Wor lass and me lived on a tiny Hebridean Island just south of you for 10 years and it was the best thing we ever did. (Erraid) just watching what you and your bloke are doing brought back so many memories of our time on Erraid. . out in the boat for the pots, growing all our own food, gathering in the seaweed for the gardens, helping the shepherd with the shearing and the Ceilidhs, oh god the Ceilidhs. Many's a time wor lass had to drag me away from the doo's on Iona. Anyway, I've taken up enough of your time now and I imagine you have lots to do. So power to your elbow and gan canny. Paul n Debs :)p.s. The minute I heard your engine I knew what it was. We had the same problem on some of our engines.
Lobster cocktail looked delicious a little stress moment of failing engine you both took so calmly well done
See you next week 💙💜🐕🐕
😂aargh! The skyelife poltergeist has moved the painting! 😂 gosh! What a rollercoaster episode – I was a bit scared for you when the engine failed away out there! 😱imagine calling Richard “ehhhh we are stuck”… 😂Another delightful busy week, well done Sarah… chores done & getting the messages – Nori was determined he was goin with you! 😂x
I’m used to seeing you having to maneuver around sheep but not cows. Interesting to see free range cattle on Skye a not uncommon sight in the western us.
When you put away seasonal engines, drain out all the fuel. The ethanol turns into rocks in the fuel, not kidding!
Nori is so funny trying to go for a ride with you . The lobster salad looked delicious. 😺 X Have a good week
Great video. Loved the errands and mouth is still watering over the lobster salads. Yum. Thank you so much. Sending love from America's North Coast
I’m so glad to see that the painting made it into the out-tro. 😂 I look forward to seeing you each week. 👍
Handful!!!? ALL the croutons!
Hi Willie.,
Have you watched this guy, all about sea fishing and foraging .
The Fish Locker- you tube
Donald,
The lobster looked so yummy ❤
Enjoying the videos, especially the fishing and boat clips. I would like to suggest that when your driving the boat, that you clip the tether to your clothing or around your wrist, it doesn't work wrapped around the handrail. If you fell out it's bye bye Betty and Willy's swimming home.
Those colourful lures, fishing gear and that beautiful little fish that Willy put back would make for a nice watercolour. Just saying… 🙂
