Hearing folks complain about the loading time when it takes seconds between each room when I used to play this without the HDD in the PS2. That was slow. Like if you were alone in a room and got downed, you were just dead cuz no one could make it to you lol.
I also recently downloaded outbreak too, since I didn't know the differences between the regular and the #2 version, I just downloaded the latter only to find out it was just an expansion lol
My two most played re games (my favorite are the original trilogy) are the outbreak games. Over 1000 hours played on both games combined (around half each). I had outbreak before internet connection (wasn't as common) and thought I would be playing file 2 way less than file 1 but I sure was wrong. The loading times weren't an issue for me. The games are filled with so much content that they put modern games to shame. RE4, RE5 and RE6 are at the bottom of my list. They are just generic boring shooters to me. I recognize RE4 as q great game and revolutionary in its genre but terrible as a RE game. It just ruined the franchise for over 10 years. Also another factor is that RE4 overshadowed the outbreak games and people didn't like them because they were old school.
This was a good stream! You almost did all 5 scenarios on Hard in under 3 hrs with complete strangers. So glad ppl still play this. I still play my copies every so often, but damn can't believe it's been 20 years since the OG servers went down!
I'm going to try this out on my PS2 instead since I've bought an internet block in order to play Outbreak online. Many thanks to obsrv for the amazing work they did so that we can experience this game online…

Besides the shorter loading times and voice chat, they need to update the controls but not to over the shoulder like the remakes because I think that would make the game too easy. File 2 controls were great IMO. Also the new gameplay additions from File 2 should be in File 1.

Outbreak remake needs to happen I can imagine how all the characters would look in RE engine people would go insane.
