PLEASE DO THE BASH BROS!
Thanks for doing the podcast – I've been having a really difficult pregnancy and it's been a very silly reason to laugh each week.
Focus on the game Jose…..it's a seriously emotional song
40:40 Jose Canseco sells Beckett authenticated syringes (with the needles removed) on his web site.
so amped for Andy's new movie, been a big fan of Lee Miller since I learned of her in high school.
So happy to hear mention of Bash Bros
I like "harpoonman"
I didn't get a notification for this and it wasn't on the YT home page….had to go to the channel to see it, even though I watch it religiously every Monday morning.
I WATCHED LEE THE DAY IT CAME OUT (uk) AND ITS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING
One of the commenter's wrote noiseee, and there was AI response_ translation😂
Nooice!
i can't believe they didn't credit the guy with the "in an office" idea for cubicle fight
RAHHH BASH BROS!!
This is a minority take. I understand but the fact that you guys meet up together every week long enough to go over your old crap but won't do the same amount of meeting up every week to make a new thing is just like not a slap in the face but like a kick to the dick and the fact that that's the situation makes me too sad about the former group to want to listen to the old stories. It's the freakiest way of announcing that you don't do anything anymore to your fans I've ever seen is talking about all the stuff that you used to do
Question: During your time doing improv what was your favorite game to play and did you make up any of your own that you wouldn’t mind sharing. -Angelica
Question for Andy: I went to UC Santa Cruz at the same time as you (late 1990s). When I saw the Ras Trent sketch, I had to assume that it was inspired by the campus scene at UCSC in the 90s. Back then, it was such a big hippie scene with white rastas, guys in patchwork pants, tapestries in dorm rooms, Bob Marley posters, etc. Is that what inspired you? By the way, Ras Trent is one of my all-time favorite sketches!
I love Mike Diva
"Foggy Budapest Town" made my whole week
Such a great podcast
Andy Samberg in the serious not joke WWII movie after they drop the bombs in Japan: "AND TWINS!!!!"
can we get Rob Klein on the pod?? hes hilarious
THEY CALL ME JOSEEEEE
its so cute how they always end with love you😂
Question for the group: Today You mentioned “The Office” references to lazy Sunday and macgruber. I think there’s a larger pop culture connection out there that needs to be discussed. Specifically, do you think the lyric from Lazy Sunday: “They call us Aaron Burr, from the way we’re dropping Hamiltons” inspired Lin-Manuel Miranda?
I’d like to think it did.
I envision him as a 13 year old boy seeing that “got milk” commercial (the one with the guy who couldn’t say Aaron Burr because his mouth was full of a PBJ) and that drove LMM to learn about Hamilton. He became obsessed. He dug into every book he could find but he didn’t know what to do with this passion. It ate at him day and night for a decade. Then he heard your lyric and was like, “oh shit, Hamilton rap musical” – and the rest was history.
That’s all. You guys are the best. Except Steve, that guy’s a c….
@29:22 On this question, specifically for Seth:
Do you recall during Lindsey Lohan's first hosting (s29e18 May 1, 2004), Someone interrupted Jimmy Fallon on WU and casually asked him a question. Later, it was understood that that audience member was kicked out after Jimmy called it out, hilariously btw during Horatio's bit later on Update…
Not gonna lie, I tried to find the "Listener Q&A" SNL sketch on Youtube. 😅😅😅
Question: Which sketch are you guys most looking forward to talking about? Can’t wait for the Daiquiri Girl episode.
Speaking of who's going to replace Lorne, there should be a sketch with Lorne as Willy Wonka, the Lonely Island as the Oompa Loompas, and everyone who's been named as a potential replacement as the kids. Then instead of "Charlie" getting it at the end, this plays out:
Will Forte: "Oh my gosh Lorne, I'm just so honored. I don't even feel like I was ever mentioned as a potential replacement" Lorne: "You're not my replacement"
Will Forte: "Then what am I doing here?"
Lorne: "For me to do this"
Will Forte shoots out of 30 Rock on the flying elevator only to be saved by Donald the Falcon
@39:42 The Lonely Island at Milwaukee Summerfest was the best performance of the tour because we got the real Jose Canseco AND T-Pain ran over from his concert nearby (that I think he even rescheduled to be earlier to make this stunt work) to join them in performing I'm On A Boat as the encore. I'm pretty sure the concert itself was announced relatively last minute (a week or two before?) so it was all around an incredible treat that I'll remember for the rest of my life.
Question for the Lonely Island. First off, loving the pod. It's a wonderful peek behind the curtain… except for the illusion-shattering amount of Sportz talk.
So I have to ask, did Guy #1 and Guy #2 really like Sportz the whole time, and the song wasn't sarcastic? Were Guy #1 and Guy #2 just characters designed to appeal to us Sportz-haters?
I'm secretly hoping that Guy #1 and Guy #2 are alive and well in Akiva and Jorma, and they are only outwardly succumbing to Andy and Seth's peer pressure to like Sportz. But maybe it's just a sad fact of life that even the staunchest anti-Sportz nerd grows up to like Sportz as an integral element of pop culture.
P.S. Go Lions 🙂 Jared Goff is a godsend from Berkeley.
QUESTION FOR THE GROUP: How do you begin to write the music for your sketches? Does it begin with the instrumental track or are you already writing the lyrics before you have a finalized track completed? Also, has there been any songs that you wish you could change at all.
-BTW, I was at the Lonely Island concert in Minneapolis. Front Row, dressed as the dick in the box guys with my buddy. One of the best concerts I have ever been to and you need to tour again!
My favorite part of the Water Cooler Bottles sketch is the turn when they all start pouring out from the closet for WAAAYYYY TOO LONG. Like stage hands are running back and forth just to toss more bottles through the closet viciously . Also a water bottle is under the bed covers, (forget justifying a bed in the middle of the apartment living room) the guys lie and say that it is someone they were boning.
wow they talk about not remembering the water bottle sketch and then go onto to describe it without making the connection
I made a comment.
So if there was a fight. Who would win. Lonely island guys or the please don't destroy guys.
Why do you guys and current/former cast shit all over Colin so much?????????
Pro tip: Quaid is a gender-neutral pronoun

Another week of no aardvark.
I do love how Seth is always discussing corrections made by other people.
"Open to Feedback" will be written on his gravestone.
Also love the Steve Higgins appreciation and behind the scenes comedy, incredible bits all around.
Failing ACT…losing elections…and now that I think about, it my car immediately exploded when I put that Lonely Island sticker on the bumper. This can't be coincidence.
