Another woke girl boss fantasy. When will they learn to EARN your skills not get it via politics.
Good, but the end was not satisfying.
…the same old 'dancing fingers' and all the rest….somebody needs to re-programme the AI to use different phrases….
Okay… there are a couple kinds of nebula. 1) The stuff you get when a single star runs out of hydrogen to fuse, and it goes super-nova. Basically, a spherical shockwave pushing the remains of the Star outward. Usually with a small black hole or neutron star in the center. 2) much bigger areas of relatively dense gas that will, eventually, congeal into a bunch of stars, then the stars will spin and make planets from the spinning dust.
Both of these are denser than the vacuum of empty space. A many light year wide cloud, when seen from many light years away looks like a cloud. If you were in it, or flying into or out of it… your ship would bump into 3 hydrogen atoms instead of one. You don’t hide in a nebula. This isn’t Star Trek.
Use the gravity well and slingshot to redirect the course.
This story is great but it should be called :"unforeseen complications" & increase the frequency of the caption ending with the words to make it more entertaining

the obvious question, how an unqualified crew member gets the helm position, is not addressed
This story ended like a series cliffhanger. A well thought out idea would be to generate atleast 2 "Chapters" before publishing. @ story end link the next "Chapter". On and on creating a reader base with repeating viewers as fans. Being one offs is kind of short sided.
where is t he ending to this story. this part was outstanding. (Mississippi Gulf Coast, USA).
I think that the space crafts are so driven that all these controlls are busy in AI and not in the hands and under the eyes from a person Alien or Human.
Enjoyed story a lot. Few crits tho. Too many plot pop-ups & plot-holes. HFY got ported out the airlock with her being Enhanced.
