Yeah, I highly doubt we've seen the last of Tak and Dempsey. They may find some way to squeeze Nikolai in there too, but I won't hold my breath to see my favorite character return. It makes sense as to why we'd see Tak and Dempsey, and it would be cool to have a map take place in the Dark Aether where Dempsey, Takeo, Scarlett, and Diego are fending off the Dark Aether empowered Shadow man. Hopefully if they take this route, they make some changes to Dempsey and Scarlett because the are basically the same character.

I really really really hope they bring them back, the original crew just has a place in my heart always loved the quotes, it's not the same magic without them, still a fun game mode but it just doesnt hit as hard, they added a lot of dynamic that isn't there without them

As much hope as I have for this, which I have a lot of hope, but I know Activision will do anything to make their devs put minimal effort in the games and bundles into them, except Treyarch because they still care about their games. Hell, I wouldn’t be surprised if they made Treyarch put Brutus and Klaus in the game just so that people pay for the highest tier of the game and they have no storyline significance at all.
crackhead theory: what about Victis? we know they've been trapped in the Dark Aether since Tag Der Toten, they're genuinely like the only few people that are out there that could have anything to do with Dark Aether stuff other than Samantha (who has something to do with the big orb) and The Forsaken

If they bring them back it’ll just make the aether story redundant and will contradict the lore heavily

Honestly it would make more sense for the victis crew to come back because as for as we know they were just sent to the dark either but it might be possible they are still alive though they might not be human anymore
Who knows maybe there was some soul swapping shanagins between one of the older Richthofen’s and Edie ,before the destruction of the old universe

i think our best bet of characters coming back is victis but then again they have been in the dark aether for too long now

Sadly there is NO way takeo can return as the contract stated an end of the character when he ended his contract, which is why they cant use his voice bites to continue the character

Aren't their souls still connected though element 115 from the orginal zombies storyline when richtofen experemented on them? Or did the connection break when the summoning key was destroyed? Because if their souls are still connected then that could be why richtofen brings them back. But we will have to wait and see what treyarch has planned.
