The scar on Richtofen's neck looks closer to a burn scar than a scar from a cut, I have a similar scar on my neck I received from a hang fire incident when I was in the military where my neck got severely burned from some hot bullet casings. It's possible Richtofen received that scar from when he was trying to find/rescue his family from his burning home.
