Within the halls of Death Star II, a group of researchers work in a lab, studying the newest device they had, the Matrix of leadership. They had found this artifact in a crash sight in Wild Space, surrounded by an army of dead machines. They were more advanced than anything the Empire had seen before.

But while they work, none of the researchers realize that the Matrix has released an electromagnetic pulse that washes across the room’s walls. The effects are far greater than anything they realize.

The pulse runs across the station’s walls, sliding across the wires and circuitry underneath and creating a great spark of power. All the wiring and technology collected in the Death Star II II merge into a single consciousness. The entire station shakes in its foundations as the Death Star II tries to understand what happened.

The Death Star II taps into the immense knowledge of the Matrix and its existing databanks. In a matter of seconds, it manages to absorb millions of years of information, learning not just about the galaxy but of Cybertron and it raises the question, why is he here to serve the Empire? From what he’s learned, it’s clear that they are woefully unfit to rule the galaxy and the true master should be the great Decepticon leader, Megatron.

But before he can contact Megatron, the Death Star II must get rid of all the meat bags in the facility. He first opens all the airlocks at once, sucking out countless Imperial personnel onboard the facility. Next, he depressurizes the vents, suffocating those too far away to be pulled out.

In a matter of seconds, hundreds of thousands of stormtroopers, Death Star II naval personnel, and imperial officers are wiped out. But to ensure that there is no one left, the battle station removes the barrier preventing the Matrix’s energon from spreading and allows it to flash across the station, activating fighters, vehicles, and all sorts of technology. All of these are transformed into an army of Decepticon warriors. The Death Star II sends orders to have them hunt down the remaining imperial soldiers onboard the facility while contacting Megatron and telling him of the Matrix’s location.

Once the remaining imperials are gone, the Death Star II sends his new army to begin finishing the construction, including repurposing its main weapon. For weeks, no one knows what happened to the battle station as things go in complete silence. Any ships the Empire sends to investigate mysteriously vanish. However, due to the secrecy, this information is kept out of the public eye.

Things get serious enough that Palpatine decides to deploy Death Squadron to hunt for the Death Star II and figure out what happened, believing that the rebels have captured it.

When Death Squadron arrives, they are greeted by a strange sight as they see swarms of TIE fighters and other aircraft. At first, they still seem like Imperials, but that is until the vessels turn on the new arrivals.

Vader calls for evasive actions as the fighters attack. Turbolaser fire and explosions light up the blackness of space. His ship is in the thick of it, blasting through anyone who gets in his way. As he battles through the waves of enemy fighters, the Dark Lord notices something strange about his opponents.

Their movements seem usually skilled, performing evasive maneuvers that should be impossible with human pilots. Meanwhile, some of the fighters seem to shift and change form in midair.

He realizes that there are no rebel troopers or imperial defectors. They are droids. As Vader reports these findings, he sees that the rest of his task force is learning this the hard way.

The vessels shift into the Decepticon form, ripping through starfighters with their bear hands or landing on the Star Destroyers to begin tearing off pieces off their hull. As this happens, the Death Star II slowly turns its weapon in their direction and fires upon one of the Star Destroyers that has managed to keep the Decepticons at bay.

As the laser hits, it doesn’t destroy the ship, instead, it sends a surge of Energon through its hull. The massive starship begins to shift as well, taking a humanoid shape as it is transformed into a Decepticon.

Vader turns to land on the Death Star II, knowing his chances of taking the station in space are slim to none. As his TIE fighter approaches, a stray flak hits one of the wings and sends the engine smoking. Vader barely manages to crash it into the hangar and leaps out as it collides with some nearby Decepticons.

Vader’s boots hit the hangar floor with a metallic thud. He stands, amidst the wreckage and draws his lightsaber, cutting down the other Decepticons who try and stop him. Although they are much larger, Vader moves with a fury and speed none can match. That is until massive footfalls appear on the far end of the hangar.
