  1. I despise the wannabe sophisticated talk ot pro wrestling: all the dumb ass, shit terms and over explanation of this garbage.

Just admit it: it’s insultingly stupid and you/we like it: like Taylor Swift.

It really is akin to glamorizing soap operas.

  2. Man, I loved his WCW run. Maybe not the most memorable run, but he had a lot of good matches, against opponents like Booker T, Kevin Nash, Perry Saturn, and Scott Steiner. Does anyone remember the feud he had with Goldberg, and how he called himself the Millennium Man?

  3. Sid was kind of the Brock Lesnar of the wrestling business in the 90s. He was a draw in whatever company booked him but didn't have to work 300 days a year. I agree with Brian about his promos. Ioved his promos where he would be whispering and then just start yelling and go in between the 2. Just great intensity. Always loved his powerbomb. Loved his entrance with the fist bumping of the crowd and yelling "who's the man?!" Post career: I also love that he is the one wrestler that never sugar coated anything and wasn't a mark. Modern day pro wrestling is awful compared to the past and rather than try to kiss up to Tony Klown or Triple H for a paycheck like tons of legends do and put over stuff that isn't as good as when the legends did it, he would just mention if something sucked and not sugar coat it being good.

  4. If you run thru the list of WWF heavyweight champions from beginning to end, Sycho Sid ( excluding The Russian Bear Ivan Koloff – which is a damn disgrace in its own right) is the first you encounter NOT inducted in the WWE Hall Of Fame.

  5. Met Sid outside Dorton Arena in Raleigh, NC in the early 90s (WCW House show). I was probably 10yo. Asked him for an autograph and he refused, saying "pictures come with autographs, kid". Confused, I asked again. He poked me in the chest and grabbed my camera hanging around my neck and said "PICTURES COME WITH AUTOGRAPHS, KID!!". Quickly, I handed my camera to a stranger and posed with Sid for the picture. I got my autograph too. I remember Robert Parker (Fuller) in a tanktop and cowboy hat puffing on his cigar and laughing at us with his white suit hanging over his shoulder. Weird, a little traumatizing, but REALLY cool!!

  6. The guy prioritized his life over the business. So what? Are wrestlers supposed to spend every waking second they have in the ring? Are they supposed to die in the ring out of "love for the business"? He did things on his own terms. Rest in Peace Sid. Thanks for the memories.

  7. I'm not sure if Vince not knowing how to use WCW guys (which is true) applies to Sid's first run. He couldnt get over the Hogan politics, plus his first major angle with Warrior was shut down after Jim got fired. Sid peaced out after WM 8. Vince was HORRIBLE with booking the WCW guys that came over, but Sid was always over and booked decently otherwise. I wouldn't put this on the old rapist

  8. I have a friend in pest control who told me a story about him working with Sid selling glyphosate aka Round Up. I thought the story was bs because it sounded too surreal to be true . Then one day I’m listening to Jim Cornette talk about this story and yep sure enough he was a salesmen for selling herbicide .

The story goes that my buddy was in his office one day when randomly he heard a knock at the door. He goes to open the 🚪 and Sid breaks down the door . He starts screaming at him at the top of his lung

“WALT IM GOING TO FUCKING KILL YOU!!!!”

My buddy said he almost shit his pants then he realized it’s SID FROM WWF! Sid then started laughing and told him the management put him up to it because they knew he was a huge fan of pro wrestling. It checks out .

  9. I think the best way to sum up Sid's career is to say that his only two WrestleMania matches were in the main event. He was over enough to to straight to Hulk Hogan or the Undertaker, but he never stayed around long enough to make the next year's show.

  10. I always wondered how he was able to use the name Sid Vicious. Obviously it was the stage name of the singer of the 70s punk rock band The Sex Pistols. Even though he'd already been dead for a while at that point someone still had to have owned the copyright for his name.

  11. Leave it to Jim Cornette to be the one person in the business who couldn't speak positive about Sid. Every wrestler who commented on his passing had nothing but good things to say about him. Even Arn Anderson spoke positively about him.

  12. I’ll never forget my many house shows at MSG. This one particular time I was 11 I don’t remember who he wrestled but I had great seats and when he got into the ring with his scary music I stared him down with an “angry” face and he actually looked at me and didn’t break eye contact. It was so cool.

  13. At the end of the day Sid was right to spend more time doing what he loved most. Which was family and softball. He died from brain cancer and it's a blessing it was at home and not some random hotel. Rest in power Sid 🌹

  14. I agree with Jim about the spot where Sid broke his leg being ridiculous; it's funny that he should question why it was so essential because I think I heard somewhere that Johnny Ace had decided that it was absolutely essential to do this spot as a que for Road Warrior Animal to enter the match as the 4th participant (this was basically when the Magnificent Seven faction got together with the idea being that Flair had screwed Sid by booking him into a match with Animal, Scott Steiner and Jeff Jarrett which turns into a 3-on-1 situation when Animal enters). Thinking about it, just having Sid power bomb Slapnuts while Steiner's outside the ring would have probably worked well as a spot to introduce Animal being as it would look like Sid was about to win the title when Animal enters and attacks him.
