Metagross actually does get Psychic Fangs in Pokémon Scarlet/Violet which is way better than Zen Headbutt with 5 more base power and has 100% accuracy instead of the 90%. It does break screens and can be considered as a way of dealing with Alolan Ninetales and Grimmsnarl’s screen setting shenanigans. Of course you won’t break screens with it against a Dark-type Pokémon but it is something to consider.
Yeah, the power creep really hurt these guys, which is sad because both Metagross and Salamance used to be very solid picks.
Heavy Slam Metagross is where it’s at. I’d even vouch to run Psychic Fangs on certain sets but still kinda doesn’t matter since fighting isn’t common and there’s no Urshifu-Rapid for 4 months
How about Special Salamence? I know it gets some strong special moves. Metagross has access to trailblaze to gain speed and hit water types
I was thinking heavy hp heavy attack and special defense boosting with metagross with weakness and bullet punch. Facade. Stomping tantrum. And then Ice punch with Tera ice
When could Metagross could learn hone claws ? I don’t remember if it could do that in Oras but that kind of scares me
The set I gave my hisuian goodra was all damaging moves with chance stat drops like chilling water and dragon breath for the chance to paralyze
