Erm … I'm pretty sure the real Leonidas and his 300 Spartans were defeated in the end. Only two were alive after the last stand: Aristodemus who was send away with an eye infection, together with another blinded soldier. The latter – Eurytus – still returned to the fight – even when blind – and was killed. Aristodemus – being shamed for perceived cowardness – at the subsequent Battle of Platea left the ranks for a suicidal single-handed attack against the Persians and was slain.
The other one was Pantitus who was send on a diplomatic mission to arrange for more soldiers from other states. He returned too late to join in the last stand. He too was considered a coward and being ashamed hanged himself.
WW2 tell ya who is and who isnt…so this doesnt matter
