  1. The entire movie is an allegory on what gaslighting is like for a victim. She's telling the truth the entire time and Adrian's making sure everyone thinks she's lying, going crazy, and can't let go. We the audience are on her side because we can see everything she's going through. But take it back, your friend is screaming because they say there's someone in their room, with your daughter let alone, and you run in there's no one in your room there's no one that could possibly be in the room. What are you going to think? And part of the beginning when you said he could have anyone why would he do this, that's the whole gaslighting thing, a lot of times is this person could move on from you, why would they be doing this to you? You could move on from them why are you letting them do this to you. But that's not how these dynamics work in an IPV relationship. Especially when you're the victim the cage never has to be a physical cage, it can simply be in your head and that is the hardest cage to break. In these IPV dynamics leaving is the dangerous part for the victim. The most likely time for the victim of an IPV relationship to die is when they decide to leave. Not sure why the offender of the IPV relationship picks that person to stay stuck on but they do. You can ask a million questions as to why these things happen and you'll never have a conclusive answer mainly also because it's different for every relationship you come across. Gaslight is another movie you need to watch, it's actually where the common term gaslighting comes from. It's an old movie though so hopefully you're up for those and when I say old it's like 1940 something I believe. As a side note the brother in the story always reminds me of Michael Shannon.

  2. you should watch sleeping with the enemy with julia roberts. with some men it is all about control that is what it is. my ex had a camera in the living room and he would watch me when he was out of the house on his phone and if he didn't like me sitting down he would push a button for the alarm to go off that was on the camera and would talk to me through it and tell me i was being lazy and get up and do something. needless to say that is why he is my ex

  3. I’m glad you’re not able to understand them. As someone who has been on the receiving end.. it’s less about the person and more about access and control of that person. They like what they get out of you and what they can do to you…

  4. So I Googled for you HOW to turn off Twitch notifications. I don't have Twitch myself, but according to Google, you click on notifications settings on desktop or account settings on mobile, then expand Per Channel. Toggle the switch next to a channel to enable or disable notifications for that channel, and that should get you what you need. Hope I helped. 🙂

  5. 9:54 I don't think it’s what he sees in her: love, attraction, or anything like that; it is more about ownership and torment. Playing with her insecurity,
I have seen women stay with someone because of the “who else is going to want you?” mentality, which he probably avidly enforces. It’s unfortunate.

  6. “Did she telepathically call an Uber?!!? This man must’ve been next door is he helping the invisible man?!?!?” 😂😂 I was cracking up because we really never ever saw her call the Uber!

  7. This is definitely one of my favorite horror movies. So yes horror 😝. I really want Leigh Whannell to do all the universal monsters, he’s already doing Wolfman. So excited 😁

  8. Every good horror movie is about something real that has nothing to do with the actual plot of the movie. This movie is honestly genius for the way it portrays gaslighting and obsessive behavior, and just for being able to explain it to the audience who may not have experienced it firsthand themselves.

  9. Here's something you probably didn't catch. When she was talking to Adrian's brother (the invisible man's brother,) he kept looking to the side because he knew he was right there and she looked to the side too, because she realized the same. Also when she met up with Adrien, the reason he said surprise was to let her know he knew she had a listening device and that he would not be confessing. He said that to her while invisible previously. I also think she was starting to doubt her own beliefs at that point which is why she was crying.

Another thing, the reason he wanted her so badly is because she said no to him. It was all about control and when he realized he didn't have that anymore (along with the fact that she left him,) he became obsessed. He wanted to torment her and hurt the people close to her as revenge and eventually so she would go back to him when she realized she didn't have anyone else. The pregnancy subplot was also another way for him to control her and keep her close to him.

When she called Adrian's brother spineless, I think she was spot on. He was helping him either out of fear or loyalty. Maybe a bit of both.
