  1. In those stories there are often loops – as if the author had rewritten parts and forgot to delete the part they wanted to replace…
    What is it now?
Did the Atrov die out due to the plaque, and in the aftermath, the other species bounded together, or did they survive…? 🙃

  2. If you have a virus like this running through the galaxy, quarantaines should be easy for the races that have sufficient fleets. Nothing lands on your planets, not ever = no chance your worlds will be infected. This whole virus thing shouldn't be a thing at all…

  3. It's enjoyable for a lot of this channel's HFY content aren't always about how overwhelming humanity is, but more exploring possibilities where the strengths of our biology are something so outlandish to other species that turns that aspect into an amusing and entertaining story in so many different ways. That our planet has so much oxygen, that our planet has so much water, that our planet has so LITTLE oxygen, that we can detect things by sound, that we have a sixth sense for danger, that we don't drown and can hold our breath, that we have skin, that our planet has so many different species of dangerous animals, that our understanding of sciences are in a different aspect, that we use weapons that fire solid projectiles, that we have warp drive, that our ships are incredibly agile, that our ships are surprisingly tough, that we have weaponized something that is normally unfeasible, etc, etc, etc. There are so many things about Humanity both in sci-fi and reality that are so outlandish that this clash of understanding makes for such great stories.

I've noticed one or possibly more HFY channels that were written and likely read by AI seemed to have such an incredible bias towards the exact phrase "Mutual understanding and cooperation" that I got absolutely sick of it. At first, I even started a counter for it for the number of times that line was stated in that very same story, but it quickly got so incredibly old that I just gave up on that channel altogether. Starbound HFY is just a lot more fun, and a greater variance of stories and being voiced by humans means there's a greater breadth of voices and inflection for the story. Hearing the SOUND of a different voice and inflection for a different character makes for understanding of what's going on so much easier!
