Turns out salt water turns into brine, which would normally not be a problem. But itโs a big problem if you intended to use that salt water as a cold battery for your industrial brick and base.

That heavy joint-plate in a vacuum liquid lock is a genius idea!
Something I'm working on in my frosty playthrough; the polluted water geyser can be used to feed arbor trees. That plus a pip ranch or two is a much more efficient way to make wood long-term compared to Floxes.
Also, dunno if you'd be interested, but necter can be evaporated into sucrose and water, plus there's divergents/grubgrubs available on the map (or at least there is in my spaced out playthrough). (Sucrose can also be boiled into carbon dioxide but I highly doubt you'd be interested in using that lol)

I especially enjoyed the circular logic: My icebox need oomph, so instead of 100kg of steel per tile, I'm going to use 1200kg brine –> I don't have enough brine, so lets use salt water –> I've turned salt water in to brine (I was screeming "FILL HER UP WITH THE BRINE YOU ALREADY HAVE", but FJ just never listens when I scream at my screen) –> Let's use mercury! At 1000kg per tile nobody cares about crap specific heat or conductivity!

FJ, you need to keep EVERYTHING cold. Look at how many tons of liquifiables you have and consider what would happen if the polluted ice and brine ice became warm enough to melt.

Francis, if you are going to wild plant the nectar trees, rather than doing something crazy with sunlight, you could use the glowing gems that you have so many of to illuminate the trees constantly, without having to use power at all.
Since your first plan of using a salt water pool for a temp buffer didn't work out, just use a liquid tank instead on the cooling loop. Also helps with when the aquatuner toggles on and leaves a gap in the pipe

A friendly FYI for the aquatuner loops: if you go up and to the right over the input then bridge down over the output instead of how you did it you can avoid empty packets in the line without jamming…

I really like that vacuum lock with the heavy watt joint plate. However, I always assumed that temperature would transfer through the wires. Is that not the case?
I always use a metal refinery as the heat source to power a petroleum boiler. I can use this on any planet even without magma etc. you can even automate it, so if you need more heat the dupes refine more iron or steel. it works a champ, but i have never seen anyone else use it like that. refining steel it can handle 10 kg pipe of crude no problem.
A chilling station for things you want to bring into the base would be a fun use for some of the extra power.
Francis, even tho spigot seals are not efficient, it would be different than usual, so I'd say to give it a try, not a bunch of them running to tank framerate, but enough to be of some use at least.
