Watch live coverage as SpaceX launches a Falcon 9 rocket with the Worldview Legion 3 & 4 commercial Earth observation satellites for Maxar. Liftoff from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station is scheduled for 9 a.m. EDT (1300 UTC) on Thursday, August 15. The mission has an hour-long launch window. The first-stage booster, making its 16th flight, will return to Cape Canaveral, about eight minutes after leaving the launch pad.

Commentary will be provided by Spaceflight Now’s Will Robinson Smith, starting approximately an hour prior to liftoff.

  1. I never get tired of watching these amazing launches. That was the 16th successful launch and return of just that one Falcon 9 main engine. Just another day at the office for SpaceX!

  2. Thank you SFN for this coverage and excellent commentary/ graphics. The efficiency of SpaceX is phenomenal! I love watching the booster landings, but I didn't know the transporter erector (megazilla?) was reusable as well. It all reminds me of "2001 A Space Odessey" one of my all-time favorite movies. But real.

  3. Just not the same as SpaceX own coverage. Why not narrate and show their feed then a little after liftoff you can show your own footage or flip back and forth? Some of your views are cool and unique but people are missing out on a lot of detail with the actual launch if they watch your zoom in liftoff.
