In the Kursk region, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are using Challenger 2 tanks, which were supplied by Great Britain. This was reported by the Sky News TV channel. It is noted that Britain supplied Kyiv with a total of 14 such tanks.

“Sky News has no information about how many Challenger 2 tanks were used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces during the raid into the Kursk region. These vehicles are operated by servicemen of the 82nd airborne assault brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,” the TV channel reports , citing a source. In total, 14 such combat vehicles were provided to Kiev. However, according to military journalist Alexander Zimovsky, the Ukrainian Armed Forces currently have seven Challenger 2 out of 14, the rest were destroyed by the Russian Armed Forces.

The Times also reported, citing a representative of the UK Ministry of Defence, that the British government had given Ukraine permission to use the supplied weapons for operations in the Kursk region. This permission covers all types of weapons, with the exception of the long-range Storm Shadow missiles.

Since February 2022, the UK has provided Ukraine with approximately US$9.7 billion in military aid. In addition to Challenger 2 tanks and Storm Shadow missiles, the British side has transferred AS90 self-propelled howitzers, M270 multiple launch rocket systems and NLAW anti-tank missile systems to Kyiv.

Earlier, Russian war correspondents reported the destruction of a Challenger 2 tank in the border zone of the Kursk region. The strike was carried out using a Lancet-3 kamikaze drone, which led to the detonation of the tank’s ammunition.

  1. Pleased that the UK is helping materially – but if we had politicians who knew their history we'd have troops helping Ukraine to defend their Sovereignty Democracy Freedom and Justice against a despot tyrant such as Adolf Hitler or in this case Vladolf Putler indicted war criminal

  21. 2500 человек потеряли ВСУ с первого дня боёв на приграничье. Часть из них сдалась в плен, большинство погибло. Из-за больших потерь руководство украинской армии вынужденно перебросило 95-ю отдельную десантно-штурмовую бригаду в район приграничья. Главной задачей этой ОДШБ было оборонять Торецк — на него активно наступают ВС РФ.

  25. I do not understand how it could be possible that the Ukrainian advance was not halted at the border, although the Russian defensive line was clearly painted by the best possible colour – so called "Putin-red" 🤔

  28. NATO war machines more than 40 Kilometers into Russia. I bet no one in Russia, especially Putin EVER saw the one coming. Great for his next presidential campaign. "First leader since Stalin to have Russia invaded". he will obviously still get….."elected".
