Your eyes did not deceive you. On August 1st, Ava Airlines used its recently delivered Airbus A310-300 from Tehran Imam Khomeini to Istanbul Airport. You might not have heard of Ava before, but the Iranian carrier is believed to have started operations in February 2024. According to ch-aviation, it has two 737-500s, one MD-83, and one A310-300. The old fleet is, of course, a result of sanctions imposed on Iran.

A310 was the NMA of its time.
The infamous #33βΌοΈ
Only in Iran π
Sketchy lol never
Good on ya A310 π
Think I'd avoid that like the plague. Maintenance on any of their jets I would't trust.
The A310 is safer than the max.
Thank you, but NO thank you. Iβd rather walk.
Iran better get used to these ancient jets if they intend to keep supporting terrorism. They should consider themselves lucky they can get anything given the government's despicable, repulsive behavior.
Bird might be old, but the livery is fresh. ππ»
Gee and why are there sanctions on Iran?
Thanks to maintenance for keeping these old school boys alive
Old planes living on!
The A310 should still be very capable. One has to wonder what the quality of the maintenance will be though.
Bad name for current dramas
CORRECTION. The aircraft 1st flew for Pan Am, not flying for the Ecuadorean airline βtil Sept. β91. π
Best of luck to Ava.
You're not getting me on that bucket
Meanwhile, at the Mohave Desert…
There are hundreds of newer Aircraft ready to be scrapped…
Boeing needs to learn from those Iranian engineers.
They do what they can
Fly at your own risk Iranians.
Nice old birds, quite liked them when AirTransat used them.
if its airbus youre going to meet jesus
You'd have to pay me $10 million dollars to fly on that plane internationally.
I suspect they will be able to get spare parts through various shady routes or maybe reverse engineer those that are difficult to acquire.
Yikes. Frightfully ugly aircraft. Out with the old!
No Thanks !
I used to load and unload baggage
And cargo on the Pakistan PIA
A310 at Heathrow in 2012 – the aircraft is physically demanding baggage wise were the baggage
Hold is large – cargo bins forward
Hold can fit 4 ULDS this was the
Configuration of this Pakistani
A310.
I was doing this keeping Ramadan
No food or drick .

LHR 2002 – todate
I love it when 20th century airframes aire kept alive for commercial service – I wish someone would bring back the 747-400s!
Only chads use old planes for their airlines
If it flies it still flies
Shows two things:
1. The durability and quality of the modern jet airliner.
2. The ingenuity of their parts sourcing network
3. How many countries are willing to help them evade sanctions.
Don't worry the USA are flying tanker planes from the 1960s
Ok lisa
Love the A310 π₯° Great looking and great to fly too !
