Neat tom is back
to be honest, I think Ice Queendom is quite bad
I like the symbolism during Pyrrha's scene.Weiss idolizes Pyrrha and wants to be more like her, the song that she's sing represents Weiss's true internal struggle; and Pyrrha being placed in the silly cage represents Weiss seeing her internal struggle as something to be seen as silly to embrace.
Perhaps Weiss keeps referring to Blake as "Girl in the black garments" because she currently doesn't know how to view Blake.

How fast does it take for Aura to regenerate? Well the main show seems to indicate that Aura regen rate varies from person to person, with most people not being able to regenerate it in battle relevant time frames. But Hazel is specifically noted to have a freakishly fast Aura regen rate, fast enough that he could regen it faster than the good guys could knock it down.
This leads me to theorize that Aura regen rate like many other things associated with Aura depends on how much it's practiced. Most people try to avoid taking hits, so have slow regen rates. Someone like Hazel though has a fighting style based around taking hits, so he has a very FAST regen rate due to all the practice he gets.
Pyrrha looks too damn beautiful in this episode!
Also it’s interesting how the scene with Weiss in the mansion is different from the last episode, without Jacques it seems like Weiss is actually looking like she get to be her own leader rather the in the last episode that had Jacque literally hovering over Weiss can commanding the whole room.
But now it’s different and I like it!

I also feel we really didn't need the first dream episode aside. I think maybe there should have been more focus to explain Shion's semblence and the distinction between her semblence and her weapon's abilities. The scouting of last episode while needed in universe wasn't very interesting to watch. Overall, I think this is where the story is picking up So I'm excited to see how Episode 6 turns out.
I find it so ironic how you just said how smart they were for not including combat, because its all setup and not needed…meanwhile the port scene (in ep. 3) they cut it and suddenly its blasphemous.
(Just for the record, i know your reasons just wanted to point it out).
Other than that, about Weiss perception of ruby's weapon that you talked about again, its the perfect utilization of 'show dont tell' as far as i can see. We are basicly in Weiss's mind, so we dont need a previous scene where she looks oddly at Crescent rose, not understanding it. We are just shown it in a simple manner and its enough. No need for some build up for this little element.
About blake bow placement and the place they suposedly messed it up ( 44:36 ). Please consider how reflections work.
They should have explained the dream stuff with Shions weapon and the coins with her semblance. Have it be some sort of illusion semblance or form of aura fuckery.
The voice actor for Pyrrha is Megumi Toyoguchi. She voiced Winry in the original Fullmetal Alchemist, Revy from Black Lagoon, Dawn from Pokemon, Junko from Danganronpa, Ghislaine from Mushoku Tensei, and many more. She is actually in her mid-40s. Most talented voice actors can have "young" voices even when their 50+. I mean, look at Wendee Lee.
I think shion's semblance is grimm detection and the dream entering stuff is just specialized equipment
Mismatching lipflaps can be caused in low buget. Sincing correctly takes time and thus money
Do you think the obsession with "Big Nicholas!" is their attempt to hold true to fairy tales and the like and they're trying to make it out that Weiss's grandfather really was Saint Nick/Santa Claus? It'd be thematically appropriate, a selfless saints legacy being used as nothing more than a skinsuit mascot for crony corporate capitalism.
The same events are repeating to show how the white fang have be affected by propaganda in Weiss's mind. The will allays attack and distroy everything the company does. Any problem in the company is soly the Faunus's fault. They spend every second always taking steps to assault her. She sees them as big brutes for this reason, conviently reinforcing her views.

To me I have to wonder how powerful is Shion semblance? How would you do this? This seems like a mutli semblance. Is he like a dnd dreamlord or something?
Here's a very simple way to classify & understand Shion's powers:
[Semblance] – Dream-scape Manipulation
Q – Why does Weiss's dream stay the same despite dreams naturally being shifty & inconsistent?
A – Either Shion manipulates the dream to lock it in a specific state/loop, or dreams follow the plot in the RWBY-verse.
Q – How can Shion "send" people into the dream?
A – He manipulates the dream-scapes of others to "link" them to a specific persons dream. They're all dreaming, just having the same dream.
Q – How can the "guest dreamers" make fast-travel doorways?
A – Shion can manipulate the dream-scape. Why wouldn't he be able to make pathways?
Q – Has any of this been stated in the show?
A – No. But has anyone really not heard, watched, or read enough stories to get the premise and fill in the blanks themselves?
I just noticed, Pyrrha is wearing Weiss' dress from Volume 4, it's a different colour, but it's the same dress.
I take it as Dream walking or manipulation as the Semblance….everything else was experimenting with how much you can mess with the dream before they run out of Aura
Honestly, I'm tired of these cliffhangers where the movie ends JUST before the action. I'd much prefer that they give us a bit of the action we are glued to the screen for, and in the process, show us what we can expect for the next episode before cutting us off. Or slowly release us with a pan to the sky, music slowly fading away, or audio being left to echo into the black screen, so to speak. I hate cut off points. It promote binge watching. Though I'm sure that's what they want. sigh
Cold hard cliffhangers like what is shown in this episode and ep 4 are unforgivable in my book. If they were following my wishes, I'd go the full Last Air Bender route and pretty much have no cliffhangers. Each episode would be a small complete story, and each small story goes towards helping us accomplish the ultimate goal, which is what the story is all about. If this makes sense.

…Or, ya know, the SISTERS Ruby and Yang may have PRIVATELY just talked about how that mean girl gave Ruby some coffee and said nice stuff to her out of the blue the night before, and right after they had that big blowup after class…
Also, I feel some of the dialog quibbles in Ice Queendom are more the result of poor translation from Japanese to English than deliberate plot holes (i.e. "Isn't that Team JNPR?" would probably better translate as "Hey! That's Team JNPR!") Sometimes translations for anime are more… literal… and context from the original language is lost.
What if Shion’s semblance is unique to them and family like the Schnee semblance ?

I like how theres more interaction with ruby and blake in 5 episodes of this than 8 seasons of OG rwby. Also i like their interactions
