They are great pedals, especially the Shanks model, but the price tag is way too high for most

After switching to a FM9 modeler, the ONLY thing I miss from my pedalboard / tube amp rig are my Vemuram pedals. Worth every penny imo. The Fractal JanRay is my "go to".
This pedal sounds really good – but at that price level it is not acceptable. There are alternatives ……
That Keeley nobel screamer, sounds like a pretty good pedal in that Nobels od architecture. I think it was UNCLE LARRY/bucavac approved. I love that hearing test they had with Tom with all the overdrive pedals, I would love to see one of those With JNC, testing his ears With the Fractal/Helix to see if TOM could be fooled.
Shanks is my absolute favourite… more affordably the Nordland ODR hits a similar spot!

Just another overpriced distortion pedal in a million or so that have come before. There aren't any new distortion sounds, only forgotten ones.
I heard someone play the BUDI boost in the net , and it was juust sooo sweat to me ears, but of cource plaid to a tube amp, ha ha…, Ive got 7 Yamaha Pacifica 112Vs, 340€ new, I might consider swapping one of them to aye Vemuram ped, but methinks them Vemuram pedalists are a league of their own, not interested in my specific Pacificas, ha ha…!
I have one and love it, but I dislike the pricing strategy.
So how much knob fiddling are you needing typically? A decent capture of this – would this be workable and then shift it ?

Have u tried XTS pedal imperial overdrive? Which is same basic with your shanks
The Shanks ODS-1 is hands down the best overdrive pedal I have ever played–and I own dozens of overdrive pedals. I'd sell all my other pedals before I'd part with the Shanks. I have the Nobels ODR-1 as well and though it is in the same vein it just isn't as sweet as the Shanks.
Sounds good, but I don't need it nor can I afford it.
I have to say, that may be the best od I've ever played and I've played a bunch. I didn't want to send it back when I demoed it

Absolutely love it! This has become my always on pedal, I run a KoT into it and just gives a fatter and rounder tone especially in the mids.
Expensive. But worth it!
