  1. Hello all! Glad you liked the video! Just wanted add/clarify something.

I dont think it was said in the video at the end well, but personally happy sugar life is flawed series, probably would give it a 5/10, but felt the ending was very strong and ponient with Asahi. I wish the rest of the show was as good, but since its not and has so much stuff that erks me, it makes the ending itself bittersweet as a viewer. WOW VERY META!

Still stand by my video, just wouldve probably wouldve been a tiny bit more critical in the outro if it wasnt written at the beginning of the year and ive been busy with exciting college stuffs.

Also i havent finished lolita but if that one line when i compared them doesnt age well then yowch sorry fellas.

This video isnt supposed to be super serious, just a reflection of my opinions on the show, which is why there are so many dumb jokes.

Obviously all of this is my opinion and if you disagree more to you! Thanks for stopping by anyway!

Anyways, hopefully ill be here with another video that wont take me NEARLY as long! Peace Peace!

  2. As someone thats a huge fan of "cute moe anime being actually a horror story" (pmmm, magical girl online (that one sucks tho) school live, ect). When i found this media, i was like, oh a pink girl thats insane in a moe horror? So cool! But then seeing its a series just full and based on grooming of a young girl really threw me off. I myself am a victim of grooming, a lesbian one at that, the anime romanticizing it really upset me. Whats worse is that people don't care and love the two together, which as a victim, makes me really sick.

Pro shippers (those yhat like incest and pedo ships) love this anime, literally relating to the two of them. Honestly this kind of media is sadly never going away, mainstream anime is full of pedophilia and incest and it sucks…. Ruby hoshino ill save you from the god awful anime.

Thank you for the video, the only time i was really happy was seeing the joker pin on your corkboard and the future diary reference, i love both dearly

    Keep the videos up ❤

  3. Good retrospective video with valid points and good attention to detail but please stop peaking your mic/blowing up your audio/using so many loud sound effects.

Maybe it was funny the first few times but you do it way too much imo that it waters down the impact and it's really jarring to listen to especially since a lot of people watch video essays like this while doing/working on something else. (Also I personally don't like the loud = funny kind of humor really.)

  4. watched just enough of this video to imagine a better version of the show where mitsuboshi isn't a creep and saves shio from sato, and the rest of the show follows his internal struggle between keeping shio close so he can protect her from experiencing what happened to him or handing her over to asahi, who truly loves her as a sibling and NOT as a partner, but isn't 'strong enough' to protect her (like i said i didnt finish the video so if some weird 'sibling love' shit happens between asahi and shio im gonna pretend it doesn't.).

obviously my better version of the series ends with mitsuboshi and asahi teaming up to care for shio and sato either getting some serious therapy or dying in a way directly tied to the harm she's caused.

side note but i love the character designs in this series and it makes me so mad they're stuck in a half rate version of lolita that doesnt understand why lolita worked. shio is so cute i wanna pinch her little cheeks why is she stuck in the universe where 9/10 adults are into kids

  5. Really good video!!! i watched the first few episodes a couple years ago and while it really did interest me my ADHD never let me latch on so im glad to find someone talking about it LOL. One slight nitpick about the video, the music feels a bit loud to the point where it distracts from your voice and i have a hard time understanding what you're saying. Overall I like the video i take a big bite

  6. acting like the manager abusing her power at the job is plothole is pretty annoying considering what the job markets like rn. getting a job is hard and nothing pays well i wanted to smash my computer several times working on applications. (this is a nitpick I know im mostly just venting about the job market)

  7. i remember this anime lol i watched it as a young teen and actually thought that the dynamic between shion and sato was about motherly love and sato trying to love shion like she wanted as a child god was i wrong . this story is a great horror anime but i really hate the romanization of shion and satos "relationship" anime has a real problem with child charas

  8. Lolita really is the number one test for reading comprehension. Really blatant ‘if you don’t understand that a POV character’s actions can be bad and the author is showing you this and also how the character justifies them to themself, you will be repeating this literature class until you die’. Great book. You go in expecting one form of what the fk, and end the book with a completely different “no wait, what the fk?????” Only book that I ever read, finished the last chapter, and immediately started re-reading again in the same sitting, just to try and pinpoint where the wheels came off the cart. And it means you can literally always tell when people have actually read the entire book or if they’re lying. The tells are 1) “It’s disgusting and just pdf apologism and smut” – the two more explicit bits aren’t particularly, would take serious effort to get off to (cus he wrote them that way on purpose out of fear people would do exactly that), they’re only in the beginning of the book, and if it looks like apologia to you and that the author’s saying Humbert is a good and sane fellow you might be incurably stupid or Jared 15 years old who never learnt how to read; and 2) Anyone who actually read the book is like “of course he’s a loser shitheel massive pdf file, but what was with THE OTHER THING???”. It’s like being in a secret club where the password required you actually read the whole text – no-one ever spoils people about it. People who have read Lolita who ask another person who claims to have done so “what are your thoughts about what happened in Lolita?” are rarely talking about the pdf bit lol.
