Elon Musk Finally Revealed Why Boeing Starliner FAILED: NASA Fixed Contracts?
SpaceX creates a monopoly. SpaceX destroys competition. SpaceX is the reason many companies can’t catch a break.
These are the dramatic claims floating around the aerospace industry. But is there any truth to them?
Not really. SpaceX’s reign is more about NASA’s fixed contracts and the occasional stumble of other companies, like Boeing with their Starliner fiasco. And no, it’s not just gossip—Elon Musk himself has spilled the beans on why Starliner didn’t quite hit the mark.
So buckle up and join us as we dive into this topic in today’s episode of Great SpaceX!
Elon Musk Finally Revealed Why Boeing Starliner FAILED: NASA Fixed Contracts?
Indeed, when mentioning NASA’s fixed contracts, Boeing and Starliner come to mind as the biggest disappointments in recent years. Despite receiving almost double the funding compared to SpaceX in the Commercial Crew Program, Boeing’s performance has been less than stellar.
Awarded the contract in 2014 and aiming for a 2017 launch, Starliner’s first crew flight only took off on June 5 this year. Those seven years were marked by stagnation and ongoing issues with their vehicles. This not only caused significant delays for both Boeing and NASA but also led to substantial financial losses.

With just one crew flight to date, Starliner’s achievements pale in comparison to what SpaceX Dragon has accomplished. Keep in mind, that mission was a test mission, meaning Starliner has yet to receive launch certification or fulfill any of its CCP contract obligations. They have only a few years left to complete the six required missions.
What’s more embarrassing, despite a successful launch, Starliner encountered numerous problems during the test mission. To this day, NASA and Boeing have not managed to bring their spacecraft and astronauts back. Many even suggest that NASA should send Dragon to rescue the stranded Starliner astronauts.

  1. Reuse abilities like airplanes is a major point in this case!
Also the most modern engineers (I think should be called “rocketeers”)
are enthusiastically wanting to succeed way beyond “The wrong stuffy idolized old folks that need to be kicked off their high horses” so next generation can get the jobs done for the betterment of humanity!
    👍😎💯🇨🇦

  2. Musk is an embarrassment to the Democratic party an individual erratic in many ways explosive outspoken a geniuse in his own right and a man capable of getting best talent to do that it takes ability to recognize and motivate. in other words the worst possible type of person to exist for the Democratic party. A self made MAN.

  3. I quit flying on Boeing since the 737-800 killed 346 people. I would a never of got in starliner with boing reputation. I’m betting dragon space ship will have to rescue the 2 astronauts from space station.

  4. Would have been nice if you had provided video that shows Elon speaking to your headline. People in the Aerospace industry understand what the issues are and they appear to have little to do with vehicle's helium leaks. The Starliner vehicle and crew are stranded at ISS due to issues with the Thrusters and there doesn't appear to be a solution to the problem of how to maintain control of the spacecraft attitude during reentry through the Earth's atmosphere. Without precise control of the thrusters, the vehicle will not be capable of maintaining the correct attitude that presents the heatshield centerline, perpendicular to the reentry vector. Any deviation (or loss of attitude control) will result in Loss of Vehicle and a corresponding Loss of Crew. That uncertainty is preventing NASA/Boeing from making the decision to commit to returning Starliner to Earth with or without the Astronauts. And everyone knows that Boeing is reluctant to bring the Starliner back to Earth autonomously because that will be them admitting their failing and force them to submit to a Dragon rescue of the Crew. But these astronauts can't stay on ISS indefinitely.

  5. i really like these videos but just try to make less "clickbait" tittles like the one you putted on the last video you uploaded the one talking about the Falcon 9 getting it's launch liscense

  6. WITH BOEINGS TOTAL FAILURE TO BUILD A SAFE AND RELIABLE PRODUCT IN THE LAST 20 YEARS IT IS TIME TO CANCEL ALL CONTRACTS WITH BOEING AND GET ELON MUSK AND SPACE X TO RETURN THE ASTRONAUTS TO EARTH AND TAKE NASA TO THE MOON. BOEINGS PIECE OF TRASH CAPSULE NEEDS TO BE JETISSONED SO IT WILL BURN UP IN ATMOSPHERE. THEY ALSO NEED TO BILL BOEING FOR REFUND OF ALL NASA CONTRACTS AND COST OF SENDING SPACE X TO DEAL WITH THEIR SHOTTY SPACE CRAFT.

  7. SPACE X SHOULD BE GIVEN ALL U.S. CONTRACTS AND ALL BOEING CONTRACTS CANCELLED UNTIL THEY PROVE THEY CAN BUILD SOMETHING THAT WORKS AND DOESNT FALL APART LIKE THEIR AIRPLANES DO AND DO IT AT THEIR COST. IF OTHER SPACE COMPANIES ARE ABLE TO BUILD SAFE AND RELIABLE FUNCTIONING CRAFTS THEY SHOULD BE USED BUT BOEING SHOULD BE PERMANTLY BANNED FROM ALL AREOSPACE CONTRACTS FOR AT LEAST 100 YEARS.

  8. DON'T ATTACK ELON MUSK JUST BECAUSE HE IS A GENIUS AND HIRES COMPETENT INTELLIGENT PEOPLE WHO CAN BUILD PRODUCTS THAT WORK. HE DIDN'T SET OUT TO CREATE A MONOPOLY. IT WAS GIVEN TO HIM BY BOEING, BLUE SKY, AND ALL THE OTHERS WHO HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE DOING.ALLBOEING CAN DO IS BUILD JET LINERS THAT FALL APART IN AIR AND SPACE CRAFTS THAT LEAK LIKE A SCREEN DOOR ON A SUBMARINE. DON'T GIVE CONTRACTS ON EMPTY BOEING PROMISES. MAKE THEM PROVE THEIR STUFF WORKS, LIKE SPACE X AND ELON MUSK DO.

  9. There is no comparision between Space X and Boeing.
If NASA was serious they would focus on successful companies and stop wasting billions on companies that just aren't capable.

  10. The management decisions surrounding the development and testing phases of the Starliner program have also been scrutinized. There have been concerns about the adequacy of Boeing's internal review processes and the thoroughness of NASA's oversight. The software issues encountered during the OFT suggested that more rigorous testing and quality control measures might have been needed, particularly given the high stakes involved in human spaceflight 🥇🥇🥰🥰

  11. NASA is also required to use the left over technology from the shuttle program… which was done by one or more members of Congress, to keep their constituents employed and hopefully keep those reps in office.

  12. But he didn't tell ya he kicks people off X for nothing but not agreeing with their political views ! So basically Propaganda ! Or is it pay to play or stacking the deck ? Regardless it shouldn't be done unless cut all political fund raising on platform what's good for the goose is good for the gander.

  13. Boeing is a failing company. It survives by intense lobbying, and NOT technical expertise. Boeing is run by Beancounters that have no idea how to build spacecraft or aircraft. What they are good at is padding their own pockets with obscenely high salaries and bonuses. Basically the board of directors is robbing Boeing blind, and destroying the company.
