I don't know if we could say Ye Qiu wants revenge. He is more disappointed than mad which is shown multiple times in the anime. What Ye Qiu wants… is to experience Glory again. That is it. All he wants… is to win.

Kings Avatar the anime and Live action on Netflix both good, i watched them both and they were done so well.
… this is a surprisingly poor recap… that or my memories of the anime are diluted by the novel.
The weapon, he was not lucky to get it. It's a symbol of his friends' and his dream when they had nothing but the game. It's a crafted weapon created by his gang after a lot of research by them before ye qiu became a pro player. It's THE most important item in the story…. Get that wrong and the story changes…
