I like how they take things step by step in terms of updates. I picked it up again after the sentinel update and have been playing quite often. Adrift was my first expedition.
Wish there was voiced NPCs
I’ll will say that the devs commitment to working on the game for free 8 years out is commendable but it doesn’t change the fact that the game is still weirdly sloppy and very difficult for new players to get into
Sean Murray isn't a liar. He's the guy in a room full of programmers with the most social skill. It turns out "most charismatic nerd" amounts to "excited word vomit and panic promises". Anybody reading this thinks they have anxiety? No. That guy is an anxious mess.
Me to Xbox as Joker was to Batman when he unmasked him:
"Where's my g*****n update Box?"
I just played for the first time tonight. it was a great experience😍 now im watching youtube videos on the game because it refuses to leave my thoughts
Is there finally some combat?
bro you should get it it has been out for a long long time and they r still imporving the game
What in bionicles is this game and why haven't I heard about it yet?
I got this game in release and was so disappointed I haven’t played since, I’ve heard it’s great now but playing it right on release put such a bad taste in my mouth I’m very hesitant to try it again. is it really worth it??
For me the real surprise of this update is the engine upgrade and the refactoring of core systems like the particle rendering + backporting newer features from LNF to NMS. i wish more game dev studios would put in the work to improve their in-house engines. (like looking at you, Bethesda and EA)
There's two to three main things that are annoying for new players.
1.) Playing through the main story with friends is essentially impossible since multiplayer seems to still break scripts.
Stuff starts working again if no other player is in the same system, but it's still a massive pain having to hop in and out of systems just so that one person can finish the next task. Don't expect to do stuff together other than exploring space, building bases and doing Nexus missions. Even expedition missions tend to bug out in multiplayer which was especially jarring on the previous one which advertised a free-play weekend to play the expedition and explore the game together with friends…
2.) A lot of the content that was added over the years feels a bit "tacked on" if you pay attention. Nowadays you get introduced to sentinel ships pretty early which gives you a ship that's not only basically free but also better than most stuff you can buy. Some stuff is also locked behind main campaign progression (possibly so that everything doesn't trigger at once) which is fine, but the timing is often a bit weird. There's a spot where you make your first bigger star system jump using an "unusual" method (I won't go into details) and right after that the tutorial for constructing underwater bases and craft is started. It's super confusing until you realize that it's just part of a previous update and is not actually related to the campaign at all but was just placed behind this specific trigger for some reason.
3.) There's a ton of more-or-less annoying bugs right after bigger updates. They get fixed really quickly, but if you cannot make backup saves then it might be a good idea to just not play the game and wait a week until the major stuff is fixed.
And yes, do play the main campaigns. You'll get quite important things that can't be lost and also can't be found anywhere else.
I started playing nms a week or so ago. And I cannot put it down. ❤
According to Steam's achievement log, fewer than 75% of everyone who owns No Man's Sky on Steam have even unlocked the very first achievement in the game, so "the number of players" does not equal "the number of people actually playing."
ship combat still sucks, so does ship movement and navigation. If the developers tightened up all three, I would absolutely love this game.
I was probably one of the basic new ships you saw on the anomaly 🤣 I just started playing after seeing the update come out and I gotta say I love it. I love exploring and mining and understanding how to be more efficient in it
It cannot be stressed enough how insane this game is in VR2. The immersion is unmatched, especially when flying
Havent been willing to try no mans sky because I heard the graphics were bad and that there was little to no content but Worlds Part 1 got me interested and its on sale now so I gave it a try and I cant stop playing it
I'm like, 5 years, and 1500 hours in. And I regret nothing.
I was definitely underwhelmed by that other OTHER space game from that other OTHER lying liar who lies (cough cough todd cough) so I really hope this one really captures me. It has been on my radar for some time now, and have been hearing praise for it for at least a few years now so I decided to purchase it while over the course of this video. Here goes. Looking forward to it.
It should be celebrated how hard work and dedication to a fanbase can go a very long way even if it takes a while. It certainly seems to have earned Hello Games quite a fair amount of goodwill in doing so. And positive word of mouth, to boot.
Can you play the whole game with 3 other friends start to finish. The whole campaign?
were you talking about eve online as the game that shall not be named?
Oh wow Blunty I haven't seen anything from you in years but I always been subscribed and wow good to see you still making content. Wish you grew bigger though you deserve it for being here for so long. Keep it up man. I definitely am getting into No Man's Sky now.
Hello Games went from being basically the laughingstock of the games industry to being one of the best development studios of all time. They really are a shining example of game devs prioritizing making solid games over making money. Of course the latter is important but the fact every single major update to No Man's Sky has been FREE is simply astounding. The ONLY money I've spent on NMS was the 60 bucks I spent on the original PS4 version in 2016. I can't say that about any other game I've ever owned. We live in a golden age of gaming and Hello Games are leading the pack by being an example that every game developer in the world should emulate, but too few do.
I waited for it to complete
I've been playing on creative mode since I beat the main missions and settlers and harmonic camp quest a while back and I still can't get the echoes quest to start do I have to start a new save
I came back after some years and I don’t understand shit. I just know I have a 50 hours save with a village and a huge frigate. I don’t know how to proceed from there or whether I should start a new save. I did but the beginning was too grindy. I want to get back to play this but I don’t understand shit
Buggy it was better before
To me the worlds still feel stale beautiful but stale I’d love to see mega cities , civilizations inhabiting planets with commerce , trade , temples , places of knowledge like libraries , wars with each other or other races , etc
Now I just have to remember how to do every basic thing and where all my stuff is after no playing for 2 or 3 years.
Just need more buildings now and more combat events with better combat
I played at launch, 26 hours, and never touched it again. I've heard all of the news about it getting way better and finally downloading it now. Didn't even know about this new update. My only concern is that they've added so much that it's overwhelming. I hope it at least lets me learn the basics before it bombards me with new mechanics.
its on sale i bought it i pray i like it wish me luck boys
just purchase today July 28th 2024,sitting here looking at it on the PS5 already downloaded but I'm quite scared to get started😮…. am I too late to the party 🎉
1:45 so glad you said that… I'm so glad that all the players put enough pression on the devellopers to save this game… It was unbelievable to see the type of scam they were trying to sell to us…
@1:40 you earned that thumbs up right there
