Twisters was GOOD

MINOR SPOILERS! Here’s my review of the first major tornado movie in almost 30 years, Twisters!! Thanks for watching! Saw twisters in the most tornado active region of the world, Farmington Maine.. Okay maybe not the most tornado region but I’m currently on vacation.. Also I recorded this video in a car lolol. What’s everyone’s thoughts on Twister? Was is better than the original?

  1. It was better than I expected. They paid homage to the original respectfully whilst adding their own spin (no pun intended 😂) to the story.

Nevertheless, there's only so much you can do with "storm" movies.

  2. Saw it twice in 4DX (with the moving seats and water and wind). Absolutely phenomenal. About to see it again in regular 2D here in a few hours. I think it's possibly one of the greatest, if not THE greatest movie in this entire genre that's ever been produced.

  3. See this – it is a great fun ride of a summer movie. Don’t wait for streaming. See it in a quality theater because while the VFX are impressive, the sound effects are amazing and you just won’t get that experience in any other environment.

  4. "Definitely better in terms of plot". Bro hardly mentioned any plot elements. The only real comparison done was that you liked the relationship in the new one and you didn't really believe the relationship in the old one, whatever that means. You also said you felt bad for the woman Bill's character left but if anything that's only a credit to the original because they wanted you to feel that. The comparison was a major promise in this video and there was almost no comparison. That was very unfulfilling. Also, you don't know much about what makes a good movie or good writing tbh

  5. I thought the tornado effects were excellent. Tornados have many different appearances. I've been watching tornado TV shows and YouTubes for a long time. I wanted to sign up for one of the tours 15-20 yrs ago, but I get car sick😝

  6. One of the characters, Scott, looks almost exactly like my favorite member of my favorite band. He even is in ‘Scarecrow’, and this guy wrote a song called ‘hymn for a scarecrow’
    It’s chilling af!

  8. I just saw it tonight with a fellow tornado/weather friend. I felt really similar in that I wasn’t going in expecting a lot, the trope of redoing a movie for nostalgia is so common and I didn’t want it to disservice the original 1996 movie which is really special to me growing up with it.
In all, I ended up really enjoying the movie anyway! Like Top Gun Maverick, it seemed to honor the source material well while being its own thing. I really liked the nods to the original movie, did anyone else notice so much of how they filmed the driving sequences was similar? The glances between trucks while passing like Bill and Jonas. I was hoping they’d call someone a “nightcrawler” tho lol also, the corporate sponsor team using identical dodge vehicles and the ragtag group driving a red Dodge pickup and other older mixed vehicles. Oh and the random cameo of the Jeep J10 pickup getting sucked up by the tornado at the rodeo, same type I think as Jo’s yellow Jeep truck that also got destroyed.
