It’s been a while since I made a vivarium and nearly two years since I’ve done an arid or desert style design. I’m not sure why I don’t do them more frequently, but that’s likely to change soon. I had a ton of fun with this build and I’ve been thoroughly enjoying the beetles! They’re very enjoyable, easy to care for, and fun to watch.
Let me know what you think of the project and what you want to see next!

I had a lot of fun with this build and it makes me even more excited for some future projects that I hope to do in the next few months. Also, the beetles are so fun to have around and I’d highly recommend giving them a try if you ever come across them. Anyway, enjoy the video, have a great weekend, and let me know what you think of the project!
Turned out soo good! Glad to see more inverts. Hope to see more arachnids in the future too 🤞🏼
These beetles are so cute! But what do you do when they start having babies?
I really like the project. It reminds me of my visit to the Sedona Valley in Arizona, such a beautiful place.
you are amazing in what you do and the creatures look so comfortable too
and those blue beetles are really lovely!
I NEED this…
Only I need it for my bearded dragon
I'm also limited on space at the moment so I was really hoping to find a way to cut a hole in his current viv/glass enclosure. Wanted to get a little creative & add a smaller (most likely DIY) aquarium to the side I cut the hole in.
What is the name of the blue beetles ?
love the plant life in this one
Hi,
First of all, I like your videos, they are really good, you are very easy to follow even if English is not your native language.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
just an "improvement"
It would be great if you included the Latin names of the animals and plants in the description
Blue Beetles=Asbolus verrucosus
You are a master craftsman! What a beautiful setup. Those beetles are gorgeous.
this tänk is the prettiest piece of vivarium i have ever seen. i was going to make a tropical tank but i crapped that idea and i am officialy just copying you. but i can't for the life of me find spiderwood and the right sand for sale
neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
It needs a skull.
so beautiful ….
How do u not get the substrate becoming hydrophobic?
Anyone have the guitar tune name?
Did you disinfect/sanitize your two different kinds of sand used here before introducing into your setup? Thanks.
I love the blueish background. Was this achieved with a normal white frosted film? I will be building bioactive tanks for leos and since I don´t want to make my own backgrounds, I am considering only putting a window film, but unsure if I should go with black or white. Any thoughts?
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16 KJV, Jesus Christ is the only way…….
I was going to put some cacti in my BDFB cage mixed in with the succulents….okay to do or bad for the beetles? Thanks.
Hey Tanner do you have any updates on this enclosure?
I absolutely love this build! I would really like to keep these beetles in the future.
Bug pretty
I never thought I'd be interested in terrariums, but this beetle really looks great and interesting. Like a mini tanker bug from starship troopers.😂
most people try to exterminate bugs out of their homes…this boob has them as pets??? Ugh the humanity…
Hi, I know I’m late but I wanted to ask what other desert beetles can you put in the same tank with these blue beetles
Next tank should be a leopard gecko or a North American garter snake😊
Looks awesome!
Does anyone know a place to buy blue death beetles in canada
@8:47 am I the only one that sees a face in that rock in the middle
Golly, everything is perfect! Your narration and precise explanation is amazing. Your project turned out beautifully! What an inspiration for my own vivarium project, thank you!!!
I'm really curious how the excavator clay held up long term, and if you had to remoisten it to stop it cracking, or something
Gorgeous tank, love those beetles
I’ve always wanted to created a bio active desert for my desert reptiles, will it be safe or okay if I create this for my reptiles?
i just did a tank inspired by this video. i had an old tank and light stand, a temprate substrate mix, and some decomposed granite. after i bought a new bulb and some escavator clay, a used the dg to make a new substrate. i used rocks and branches from ouside and some succulents i already had.
had i fantastic time making it and im so excited to stock it soon. i dont have your skill in making scapes and i know some nicer hardscape elements would have elevated things but for a budget build i think its pretty fantastic.
love your work. hope you do more arid builds soon.
