…not the real main cast in mwz that is dead but maybe the dark aether made copies to use as a way to try and enter that universe.
This isn’t going to happen but imagine if Richtofen from Blood of the Dead (The one that gave Richtofen the updated chronorium in the intro cinematic) had changed his plans after reading (and not accepting) what would happen according to the chronorium and found a way to contact Richtofen (Dark Aether storyline) from the past and Richtofen (Dark Aether) is scouring the Dark Aether for group 935’s lost technology to bring him back. I’m 99% certain it won’t happen because the story is put to rest and Takeo’s va has retired after a stroke but still I never liked the idea that the version of Richtofen that passed on the chronorium would just be okay with what was going to happen.
They might just pull an Edward Richthofen and erase the MW3 timeline.

I think we rescue maxis in terminus then the characters die ., then we play as ravenov, richtofen, maxis, and someone else because rictofen gets desperate and contacts ravenov for help for future dlcs
Treyarch needs to do something crazy in the first map like the main crew dies at the end of the easter egg and we get another crew right off the rip like the OG crew or something

Well just because we know a character dies doesnt mean theres no reason to care about them. We know Hudson and Mason die but we still cared about them in cold war.

Their clothes when the characters are dead is the same as the shot from terminus so probably at the end of the main egg in terminus they are probably going to die. Also it’s been confirmed that Liberty Falls takes place at the same time as terminus so we’re probably going to meet our main crew in liberty falls and the Cold War guys are going to just start the bo6 story off by dying. The bo6 story takes place in 91 mwz is in 96 there is a lot of time in between to character build

I honestly like the dark aether story but i can't stand the fact zombies and campaign is connected. I dont like the idea of Soap fighting zombies before his death. Same with Black ops and Modern warfare being connected. Just feels forced and unnecessary. MW19, 22 and 23 ruins the campaign aspects of BO2 in the 2025 missions. I think they need to seperate MW and Black Ops and i think they need to end the dark aether story after BO6 and start a new storyline with new characters. I dont think most of us care that it would lessen the blow of the tag ending. It doesnt have to be a multiverse where every story is connected either.

Tbh all we know is the crew is dead. Not why and not how. Why is Maya also not dead with the crew? I don't think knowing they die is a bad thing, it really only makes me want to know why? And that's where BO6 comes into play. Maybe Eddie's Project Janus is to open a gateway to the dark aether for him to have full control, hence, our crew sacrifices themselves to enter directly into the dark aether and stop this ultimate form of Eddie? The storyline definitely doesn't end with their deaths, it just sets up the next phase.

The sacrifice of them is pointless to what the real plot‘s gonna be. Them dying is just a distraction from what‘s really goin on with project Janus. Do you even know what Prj. Jns. stands for? Do you know it‘s still Ultimis Richtofen callin the rabbits, ehhhh shots? No? So you‘re not into the storyline anymore.

Who knows. What if something happens in BO6 zombies that could make us not care about these characters any more? What if Director Eddy causes some kind of time loop, when trying to bring his wife and son back, and causes Tank, Takeo, Richthofen, and Nikolai come back? We don’t know what treyarch has played for the storyline, but I have a feeling they could do an entire switch up and make us look at MWZ story as a minuscule piece of the pie.
It could be insane if they lead us on that this Project Janus is for Eddy to bring his family back. But what if he makes it so the dark aether didn’t exist in the first place? Brining the main crew back, Dr Monty, and the old time loops continue. And that’s could be why Gobblegums can come back, because maybe a dark aether time loop has already started, or Dr Monty is returning in some way.
