The war with Germany fizzles out almost immediately leaving the US Navy some peace to build up the fleet. New battlecruisers with more guns, new battleships with bigger guns, new destroyers with more AND bigger guns – all good. But where on earth is something we can build a decent cruiser on?! Our medium ship force is severely lacking, come on game give me something decent!

The American BC Ranger is beautiful design in Ultimate Admiral Dreadnoughts ( 10:05 )
34:22 It's not cruel that you're forced to put the tower so far forward. It's only how it must be in that era.
46:32 you always had the large armored cruiser available
37:20 the weee class Sir Robin inspired scout cruiser.
Yes!! an alternative to Football!!
Weirdly enough the Constellation in my US campaign was a wrecking ball that almost never took damage
The giga control tower looks like the Japanese pagoda tower
22:11 I notice you decided to add a secondary tower to this one. Interesting new direction you’re taking 😜
You are making them so skinny you won't be able to ad the twin 5inch 51 or 5 inch 25 turrets that the United States slapped onto all of their old Standard battleships during WW2.
Sacrificial comment for the algorithm deities.
On the battle cruiser, no guns in the rear gun tubs.
Giga Control tower looks like the US's attempt at a Pagoda Tower. Pagoda Tower ftw.
"We'll make the 6in 45's as well" proceeds to make them 46's
The first country to use triple turrets was the Austro-Hungarian Empire in 1918, the US didn't use triple turrets until WWII.
Dare I say it, with apologies to Monty Python – The Ship of Brian?
That's the one big disadvantage of playing the United States – you get literal crap for cruisers, until you hit the 1920's. But the destroyers you get are rock solid, and can cover for a multitude of sins.
2 things in regards to the destroyers. I love the gun destroyers so if you would like to upscheme the torpedo armament you could add them to the sides instead of just having the one centerline mount. 2. Hydrophones are awesome but kinda just take weight if there’s no depth charges to go with them
RIP Florida class I really enjoyed that class
I like making skinny/fast cruisers with rapid firing 6" or 8" guns to contrast my wide/slower battleships with heavy main guns and numerous secondary and tertiary guns and thick armor.
so is noone gonna mention he completly missed the large armored cruiser showing up?
Nice to see your cruiser divisions being remodelled and upgraded after a rather long hiatus. The new destroyer class as well, looking more advanced than their historical counterparts of the era. It would be interesting to see your battlecruisers in action, given the fact that they're not the "fast battleship" build (Japanese battlecruisers have been historically reclassified as such following interwar refits). I look forward to seeing how you will deploy them in battle now that they are true battlecruisers.
I think the weight problems for BB design are from the torpedo defense system and barbette. It jumps almost 3000 tons by just added in max barbette and TDS.
Unfortunately Brave Sir Robin does not feature in the US Navy's CL naming conventions
Please don't sell the twelve inch ships they can still be useful witch has been proven in your prior campaigns
Suggestion for some generic Battlecruiser names: National Parks
Yellowstone, Yosemite, Sequoia, Crater Lake, Rainier, Wind Cave, Mesa Verde, and Glacier all exist by this part of the game.
I also like using Founding Fathers, and American Volcanoes for Battlecrusers for the US. So Franklin, Jefferson, Hamilton, etc., and Shasta, St. Helens, Katmai, etc.
A lot of times I will do classes with a theme. I might have a National Park class, a Volcano Class, a Battle class, and a Founding Father's class.
16:37: I'm impressed by the psychic ability of the USN, considering that Joseph P. Kennedy Jr. won't be born for a year.
8:42 28knot is fine imo. its not supposed to outrun stuff. slight drop of speed that enable so many other stuff. better bultheads/armor/range, all good stuff.
BC only campaign?! Lol
41:27: If last turn you checked the political composition of the Spanish government I could write this up so much better. Sigh.
41:36: Wow, the Spanish did nothing diplomatically before this did they? Just Austria.
42:21: You jus t reactivated five museum ships 😉
42:31: Spain is allied with the Netherlands (isn't that amusing) and Ternate is a port in the Dutch East Indies. That's how they got here.
Cádiz Falls!
New York Evening Journal: Hearst Communications
MCMXVIII: 12 December 1918
The first step onto Spanish Soil is complete. Cadiz and Huelva in Andalusia have fallen. Reports of casualties are still being completed according to the USA and USN.
Attention now moves to the Spanish coast on the Mediterranean.
Sail for Gulf of Cádiz
New York Evening Journal: Hearst Communications
MCMXVIII: 27 April 1918
The United States Navy is heading for Spain, troop transports and supply ships in tow. The reserves will follow on after recommissioning is complete.
Azores Taken!
New York Evening Journal: Hearst Communications
MCMXVII: 27 March 1917
The piratical regime in Ponta Delgada has been overthrown, and American administration of the former Portuguese controlled archipelago has been established. The Navy and Marine Corps have completed their jobs. The battleships Alabama, Idaho, Bainbridge, and Iowa, and the battlecruiser Panda are heading home.
Re: '16 Fleet Reduction Program.
Bureau of Construction and Repair, Design Division:
Bureau Report: 13-Ocotober-1916
The United States Navy is directed to conduct a fleet reduction of ships that are now obsoleted by technological improvements. This consists of the Dallas and St. Louis class armored cruisers.
Dallas class ships have not been selling as operable ships. They have been identified for sale for scrapping: Dallas, Columbus, Albany, Tucson, Pueblo, Hartford, Fall River, Cambridge, Bremerton, and Rochester.
In addition to the two armored cruiser classes, it has been decided to mothball and offer for sale the ships of the Florida and Kentucky class, as this time the Kentucky, lead of her class, and her sister ships Louisiana, Nebraska, Belknap, Arkansas, and Tennessee will be mothballed. The Florida, lead of her class, Illinois, Wyoming, and New Mexico will also be mothballed and placed on reserve.
Piracy in the North Atlantic
New York Evening Journal: Hearst Communications
MCMXVI: 3 August 1916
Ever since they achieved their independence from the Reino de Portugal the Republic of Azores has been covertly supporting piracy of commerce off the west of Europe. Washington is fed up, and has directed the United States Navy Department to deploy the Navy and Marine Corps to take the archipelago. Alabama, Idaho, Bainbridge, Iowa, and Panda have been dispatched.

Bureau Report: 16-July-1916
The United States Navy is directed to conduct a fleet reduction of ships that are now obsoleted by technological improvements. This consists of the Dallas and St. Louis class armored cruisers.
Ships will be put into mothballs with the hope foreign sales will pick some of them up. If not ships will be sold for scrapping.
Mothballed are the Dallas, lead of her class, and her sister ships Columbus, Albany, Tucson, Pueblo, Hartford, Fall River, Cambridge, Bremerton, and Rochester, and the St. Louis class Tulsa, Norfolk, Canberra, San Diego, Huntington, Oregon, Charlotte, Scranton, and Brooklyn.
The Canal Opens!
New York Evening Journal: Hearst Communications
MCMXIV: 17 January 1914
The Panama Canal, between Colón on the Caribbean and Balboa and Panama City on the Pacific, actually runs from the north-west to the south-east. This marvel of modern engineering, and modern medicine with the defeat of Yellow Fever, has just opened to great fanfare. This will immensely improve commerce and naval operations.
The new reality isn’t universally welcomed, with the Hǎijūn shà ngjià ng Du Jinghong of the People’s Liberation Army Navy openly questioning America’s intentions with this new ability to shift forces from the Atlantic to the Pacific theatres in just a few short months.
United States Recognizes Austrian Republic
New York Evening Journal: Hearst Communications
MCMXIII: 22 December 1913
The aggressive wars of the Österreichisch-Ungarische Monarchie gained them Ukraine and Belarus, but lost them Hungary and the Habsburgs their throne. The United States of America has finally established diplomatic relations with the Österreichisch Föderative Republik and the independent Hungarian state of Magyar Királyság. It was a tricky negotiation, as the Austrians don’t want to cede their claims to union with Hungary.
Berlin Sues for Peace!
New York Evening Journal: Hearst Communications
MCMXIII: 15 December 1913
With their fleet turned back at Long Island, and the flagship Goeben sunk, Berlin immediately offered to negotiate a peace. Which was well timed as the American fleet was pursuing them across the Atlantic.
After just a few weeks the terms were settled. The Germans offered a measly $355 million, but the United States Navy pushed for the Sarawak province on the island of Borneo. This reduced the war indemnity to only $52 million in cash. Having seen the quality of the ships the Germans had, nobody pushed to confiscate any of their navy.
The generosity of the United States, to agree to such an equitable peace after such a threat to our homeland, was well noted in The Times (of London), the Il Mattino Corriere di Napoli, Pravda, Le Républicain Provence, and Yomiuri shinbun. Or perhaps they were just looking forward to next year’s gala event.
For the Germans their embarrassing lose has also lost them their alliance with the Kongeriket Norge as the court in Oslo was not amused to see a monarchy, even one as recent as the Deutsches Kaiserreich, lose to an upstart republic. They did pick up the alliance of the very useful Argentina.
