I'll tell you WHY in part this movie is a hit. Yes, Tom is an immense personality, actor and human being but there is much more to it. Tom reminds us of what was once much saner times before the wackiness of the Leftist WOKE came to be. It's as if he steps out of 1986 and is transported to OUR time NOW. He appeals much more to his generation because we were kids then when we watched the original Top Gun.
