I reckon a good way to deal with them is to get a big wood chipper tie a noisy object to long rope and chuck it in the chipper once the feed-rollers get hold of it get hold of it it’ll go through fast the monster would chase it only to get dragged through and get diced into pieces.

I really found the sound vulnerability to be silly. I mean wouldn't the military have figured this out just with jets and choppers / harriers? Hell just hover a harrier over a city and bam; they are all immobilized.

She literally swings not stab, with a curtain pole & the alien gets impaled??This whole movie is a plot hole unless you consider that this is only taking place after a few months from the invasion. Humanity got their asses handed to them during the shock & awe stage. At this particular time period everyone has gone underground. You can bet if this rag tag family pregnant/with baby & disabled kid can survive then definitely what's left of the military & government has gone underground and already figured out how to counter the aliens. These aliens are too weak to totally end the world as you can see any idiot can find a way to counter them.
In the new Hollywood, men are fragile and helpless and women are focused and aggressive in a way that none are in nature.
Because that's the way it ought to be…
So are they using sonic weapons in the new movie?
