  1. There are too many points of potential failure to make it to the Moon & back. They need to use the Starship to transport a Moon lander to low earth orbit, and head on out to the Moon from there. They could refuel everything from Earth orbit. Vehicles returning from the Moon could be placed inside the Starship for reentry. Since they would be operating in a vacuum, everything except Starship could be very lightweight, like the Apollo stuff was. None of it would need heat shielding. Don't think fuel will ever be made on the Moon. That is a complex, energy intensive process. The scale needed would be too vast. There is no diesel powered construction equipment, or electric grids to plug into on the Moon. Fuel will need to come from Earth. Good luck working on anything while wearing a pressurized space suit. I doubt the current NASA plan using Starship to land on the Moon will ever work.

  2. What's the environmental problem? Too loud for the gators and cotton mouths? Come on. What is Bill Nelson's job besides denigrating SpaceX? Get that dog out the door, he don't hunt.

  3. It would make sense to me for spacex to retrofit the starship tower that’s already at the cape as a catch tower. Now that the design for stage 0 is more finalized they could build a new copy of the Texas launch tower from scratch.

  4. Elon doesn't have to throw away any of the Starship during testing. Instead of landing on the ocean, land the duo on a barge that is essentially a floating pool of about 15-20ft of water. The barge needs to be a radius of at least the vertical length of the spacecraft or super heavy (duo). When the duo falls over, they land in the pool of water breaking their fall. This water will be heavy and costly to transport, so keep the pool empty, and use pumps to fill it when in position. It can then be drained immediately after landing. He only needs two barges.
