Ladakh, the most northern state of India, situated at 5000 meters altitude, is one of the harshest environments in the world. It is connected to the rest of India by a perilous road that winds through the soaring mountains. This road is one of the highest and most dangerous in the world; here even the slightest mistake can be fatal. Adjay regularly takes this route with his mechanic Ali to deliver tar to the rest of India. They face icy and severely damaged roads, torrential rain, muddy traps and extreme fatigue several days a week for just 160 euros a month.
At these altitudes it is difficult to even catch your breath but a few are still here preserving their traditional way of life. The Changpa Nomads live a simple life, always on the move in search of food for their herds of yaks, sheep and goats. Unfortunately their numbers are depleting as younger family member leave the extreme conditions of the mountains to seek their fortune in the towns below.
Ladakh is also a very spiritual place with a majority of people following Tibetan Buddhism. We follow the journey of Buddhist monk Tenzin as he walks 3000km to get back to his Monastery surviving on the hospitality of villagers along the way.

We’re taking you on the Manali-Leh highway – known as the NH3.
There are about 1,800 km (1,100 mi) of roads in Ladakh of which 800 km (500 mi) are surfaced. And one of our subs – @invincible_joe – who lives in the region says there are improvements and tunnel constructions underway so it's not quite as bad as it was when this episode of Deadliest Roads was shot. There are two main roads that connect Ladakh with the rest of the country, NH1 connecting Srinagar to Kargil and Leh, and NH3 connecting Manali to Leh. A third road to Ladakh is the Nimmu–Padam–Darcha road, which is under construction.

This seems to be old documentary. Now BRO has made Leh Manali Highway much better. With the Construction of Atal Tunnel in Rohtang this is Road is now accessible year around.

I traveled this route by bus in 1994. I then continued to Srinagar which took two days. This documentary brings back great memories of that trip.

Video quality is very poor. We have hd cameras these days.
I travelled this July, I guess it’s a very old video. The road has now tunnels and bridges feels more like driving in Scotland than Ladakh. It is still very tough and has some stretches that are not all weather but very few. Completed in less than a day.
9:00 repairing these roads looks like a perfect job for prisoners to realize they should have been working instead of causing whatever problems they were causing

This is an old documentary. Things have changed drastically now …for the better . New roads , better layout and tunnels .
Instead of warshipng some thing that is made by humans ( Budha statuses ) why don't you just warship almighty God ( Allah ) the one who created us and created the heaven and earth and everything else.
