Let's be honest and agree on one thing, the wife was a h** who ntrd butcher by opting to disappear and keep the kid, I mean atleast vought should have taken the kid for themselves but nope if they did there would be no butcher vs homelander
Butcher is one of the few people that doesn't fear Homelander, and I'm pretty sure Homelander realized that early on. I wouldn't say they respect each other, but I think they realize that they're more alike than they would care to admit. That's why their interactions are casual for the most part. It's their similarities that draw them together. It's as if they're challenging each other to see how far they will go to win and which one will eventually accept defeat. Like a very fucked up game of chess.
I've said it so many times and I know we've had a lot of versions but Antony Starr would honestly be the best live action Joker. He's very good at his job and great at playing a terrible person 😂

Butcher's and Homelander's flaw arent the same. One hurts ppl cos they think it's the only way to get justice while the other hurts ppl cos they think it's the only way to feel superior to ppl.
They're both going on separate arcs with one learning to accept love and empathy while the other is learning not to chase after love to suit their lack of empathy.
