Nuclear is about ‘Australia’s future’: Keith Pitt

Nationals MP Keith Pitt says Australia needs to be “stronger and not weaker” with the Coalition’s push for nuclear power.

“We will be asking the Australian people to have that conversation with us,” he said.

“Because this is about Australia’s future.”

  1. Politicians should not plan the future….because the end of the world is near.
Humans plan…their future. But God will finish the humans plan.,because God's plan is totally different from humans plan. According to the bible the earth and the world will end……
So people should not arguing about these things…God will end our plans for the future.
    Wake up Australian!!!!!!!!

  5. The ALP are toxic.
Nuclear has fewer deaths than wind generation per unit of generation.
Modular reactors can be up and running in 5 years.
Nuclear power is cheap at 7.5c per kWh ( no batteries needed).

  9. The LNP hates renewable energy because they are desperate for a point of political difference with Labor and the Greens.

The next move by the LNP will be banning Rooftop Solar – because they want old money controlling the Power Industry.

  10. Australia have largest Uranium reserve and Australian is not using Nuclear power plant… It is foolish… Like asking Saudi Arabia to don't drive petrol car.
Or asking German people to don't use Mercedes or BMW..
Country must use own resources to prosper own people.. 😇
With electric car electricity demand will go 25X in Australia.

  11. There is no such thing as 5 GwH Power generation 1.2 GwH is the largest ever made. That should be .5 or .750 MwH . A SMR of 20MwH can service a town of 20,000 prersons. 50 SMR = a 1 GW reactor . SMR are $100,000,000 ea. 50 SMR = 5 billion. And that is the cost of a supposed 1 G reactor. Small reactors for small country’s. And then you do not own SMR reactors. They are furnished with new fuel every 7 years
These liberal nuclear experts are guessing and dodging the truth.

Nuclear energy governing bodys will uproot Duttons placement predictions hens forth, it aint that simplistic.

  12. Peter Dutton has to move the LINOs on his Party out of the way. He has to make the nuclear power plants state owned and not private enterprise. I hppe all of this goes ahead – Peter D. Should win by a landslide and the sooner the better.

  13. My solar panels generate five times more energy than I consume, so the nuclear nuts won't be getting my vote. If they get into power they will either ban solar or tax homes that have solar panels. The only reason why Dutton wants nuclear is because his American billionaire mates want to invest in it and rip ordinary Australians off.

  14. Usual right wing playbook from the US. Say stupid stuff often enough then some people really believe it and position against that as somehow they are the elite. It’s all designed to let wealth keep flowing to the 1%. Nuclear is the new stolen election. No one actually believes it but a few self interested people go with it for their reason $ or burning fossil fuels or just chaos
