  1. I was at Alcatraz with my son for a tour. It was a blustery March day and the place was bustling. I was standing near the entrance to the cell block where some famous gangsters had been imprisoned waiting for my son when in my right side peripheral vision I saw an arm pushing a push broom. I jumped aside saying “pardon me”. I turned my head to look at them and my eyes were staring into the saddest face…a young man in classic tattered striped prison clothes with a push broom in his hands. Our eyes locked, he had the saddest eyes full of despair, and he disappeared. I was pretty shaken up and went toward the exit. A sign said that where I had been standing when I saw the young man had been the barbershop. The guy with the push broom was evidently still in there sweeping up hair. When we got home I did some research and found out that one of the prisoners who escaped from the island but might have drowned in the icy cold San Francisco Bay water worked in the prison barbershop. Maybe he was the guy with the sad eyes and the push-broom that I saw….back on “the rock” finishing out his sentence.

  2. What if it was not a life raft they built, but a body suit of sorts to be able to withstand the frigid waters better during the swim?
The one guy was left behind to throw the police off their trail, why not leave someone behind with a false plan of escape, so U can further ya chances of getting away?

  5. I've seen a few reports on this. Not being skilled canoers or kayakers they all get how the boat they used was navigated. The shape of the hull was a dead givaway to how they actually did it.

  6. It's haunted for sure. I had my own experience there on a tour while in the solitary confinement cell. I was in the very back in the group I had my left arm grabbed. There was no one near me at that time. 💯👻

  7. I've seen many video taped investigations about this escape the three pulled off. Rarely has there been any mention about the maritime traffic in that part of the bay. The F.B.I. has always just assumed that just because they found some photographs one of the men had lost that three of them were automatically assumed dead. But yet, the photographs were the ONLY evidence found, no flotation devices made from the rain coats were ever found, no bodies or body parts were ever found and no forensic evidence was ever found. Who is to say that the three men weren't picked up by a passing ship ? Or perhaps someone was waiting out in the bay for them. Why haven't they just admitted that NO ONE HAS A CLUE WHERE THE THREE WENT ?
