Russian Warships Fire Missiles Near US in Military Drills | Firstpost America
Russia has conducted naval exercises near the United States in the Atlantic Ocean. The drills involved Russia’s nuclear-powered submarine and a naval frigate that were headed to the Caribbean nation of Cuba. These warships are among the four vessels that will dock in Havana this week. The Cuban government last week said the Russian warships would not carry any nuclear weapons and did not pose any threat to the region. Meanwhile, the US and Guyana said they will continue to monitor the Russian drills. However, Washington added that it was not too concerned about the exercises as Russia wanted to show it was still capable of projecting global power.
