Not Sure if this is a Bug or a feature of the expedition/damned frigate…
On my legacy save, not on the expedition, on my capital ship (freighter), in the buildable area I am seeing no NPC’s walking around like they used to… despite having all my frigates not on missions… I do have the Damned Frigate in the fleet… Does having this Frigate cause the NPC’s to vanish ?… Is this a Bug or a Feature ??
No Man’s Sky is an action-adventure survival game played from a first or third person perspective that allows players to engage in five principal activities: exploration, survival, combat, trading and base building. for me honestly its all the same there are npc's roaming…im on pc if that helps
Just checked and there are 3 NPCs on bridge not including the captain and the fleet mission navigator. The rest of them are gone except the ones at stations like you saw. There are 6 other NPCs in the hanger area. One is up on a scissor lift lol. I only have 2 ships without captains. And I do have the ghost frig. Figured I'd chime in for posterity 😆. The area we can build in is usually bustling.
Since the last major update all my wandering NPCs have vanished. I'm on PS4 with a legacy save. I've re-built the Fleet Command rooms and still no NPCs. My freighter is a ghost town. Does help with the frame rate though.
I have to look when I get home.
Ya no npc on ships, they have been gone since the update downloaded. 😮
Nice one Cap't, & yep, my walk around NPC's i noticed last night are not there, also when debrief my frigate captain's they do not show up either, i no the new one has no one & the organics dont, but the rest do normally.. strange..
Reckon you're onto something with the idea that NPCs are suppressed either because the Expedition is running or because it's running and someone has claimed the new frigate of the damned.
You're right. Noticed no NPCs on Freighter last night. Often the ones in the Freighter Hanger are half buried in the floor.
My Captain – you should have seen some when you landed in the hanger.

Checked all my PC saved games and no NPS's in the Freighter as well only in the landing bay
