Assassin’s Creed is finally going to Japan after years of fans asking for it. IGN’s Daemon Hatfield sits down with Associate Narrative Director Brooke Davies to talk about Assassin’s Creed Shadows, including why it’s the right time for the franchise to head to Japan, how Shadows will balance its dual protagonists, and where Shadows falls in the wider Assassin’s Creed timeline.

7:05 Daemon referring to Ghost of Tsushima, and Rise of the Ronin. Ubisoft was inspired by other devs who also tackled the same era.
Karens make your games here at ubisoft. 😂
Not a big assassin's fan but im buying to spite the racists hope this does great!
Why are 90% of games that have been announced over the past few days just ancient Japanese action games…..Ghost of Tsushima and Sekiro had unique concepts and pulled it off beautifully and now every dev is trying to follow the cash cow of unoriginal tropes
We don't want black protagonists in games
This doesn't look like a new generation, we have a recycled graphic
the reason its the right time is people have been asking for this for so long and now the franchise is doing poorly enough to listen a little bit
But not the right time to have an Asian male lead for some reason….
Nope
Dummys screaming IGN, Laughable, also sudenly a black guy that was in Japan for a few months is more Japanese than actually Japanese people living in that time, Lol.
Very nice, time to get Ghost of Tsushima instead of this rubbish. By the way Ghost of Tsushima is now 50% off great deal!
Serious question, was there even black guys walking around the island nation of Japan in the 1500’s? – Heck, were there even any white guys…with the exception of Tom Cruise?

right time to go to Japan but lets shoehorn in a black protagonists, because the black narcissists and their braindead white allies have to make everything about them
日本背景,但沒有日本武士
Because they're desperate
will be the most repetitive game to date
Ubiwoke
How very colonialist of Ubisoft to make Yasuke their mascot for forcibly inserting their western sensibilities in a game about Japan
there no reason except Tsushima was an incredible hit
Not playing this slop
If you borrowing someone else culture and do not respect it enough to make the male protagonist from that culture let alone make it accurate, then you should be called out and deserved of all the backlash. But actually that is exactly what Ubisoft want: controversies to hide their predatory pre-order/dlc practice.
im not gonna buy because he black and the other one is a female
If the protagonist was an ordinary asian dude yes, so the fault is yours
Amazing how with all the money and historical documentation available to them and they still fundamentally don't understand Japan, nor this historical time period. This is pure fantasy falsely presenting itself as historically accurate. Just admit its pure fantasy and stope pretending like you know the first thing about or care about historical accuracy.
look at this fake cheering everytime "yasuke" name mention
"Took so long because Ghost of Tsushima showed us how to do it"
Goes to ancient Japan, forces you to play a black guy
They really want them brownie points!
why does she keep saying Ya-Sue-K. Cmon you're the Assoc Narrative Director
