Just to say Art, its definitely better when you dont spend ages looking for the spangram. Might get you a better "score" but no entertainment value so definitely stick with what you did today unless you do get the theme and are then looking for it

Super hard mode turkey, but it took a while to figure out. QUOTE threw me off since quotations marks come in pairs but then I couldn't see anything with the GREon the bottom that would have been forced. Finally seeing FORGET was the key to unlocking everything, as I looked for FORGIVE right away and looked for CONQUER after seeing DIVIDE and WATCH and LEARN. But even with all 6 of those words identified it was hard to find the spangram without actually highlighting the other words or putting them in. Total solve time 8:09.
Connections: Got every category, but one mistake. This time, the Purple had phrases that I've actually heard of.
Strands: I tried so hard to get that blasted Spangram first! I saw "Useful", but I just couldn't visualize the word after it without putting any answers in. I saw "divide" and "conquer" and, only after I put them in, could finally see the spangram. Didn't have to use any hints though.

On the other hand, I got unlucky that I spotted BRIDGE and STAFF as music words, given that there was not actually a musical category in the puzzle (not deliberately). This was actually very sloppy of me to not spot the wizard category earlier. I got BADLY distracted by the 6 music terms. I would have been better off to slow down and sacrifice the time bonus, because then I probably would have gotten 8/8, rather than rushing my fake-ish music category. I shot for a 9 and ended up with a 7. C’est la guerre.

I am not very proficient in reading notes in the C clef, but I know what the symbol looks like- It's a stylized version of an upper case C. Just like the F (bass) clef and G (treble) clef signs show you where those notes are, the C clef sign shows you where middle C is- it's on the line that runs directly through the center of the clef sign. I've seen it placed in different spots on the music staff, sometimes directly in the middle, sometimes higher up on the staff.
Strands was very difficult. Although I didn't use any hints it took me a long time to figure out what the theme meant.

Long time viewer, first time poster. I generally like your longer Strands efforts, and Connections as well. If I don't want to watch all your thought processes as they occur each day, on those occasions I can jump ahead by small amounts until I get to the juicy parts. But I can understand others preferring more bare bones presentations. Dead air time can be a turnoff, for sure.
I'm always interested in hearing about other scoring methods for Connections and Strands; I TRY to guess each category name in Connections, but still give myself the "Win" if I make it out alive. And I really kick myself if I should have known the category, or 3 out of 4 purples – that kind of thing.
Likewise, I TRY to get the Spangram first and get the overall Strand concept wording, but as long as I don't actually use any hints, I claim victory. (Also try not to highlight any non-concept words – learned that from YOU!)
I'd love to do one of your monthly contests some day, but am short on quality time due to chronic daily migraines and a disorganized life because of that and other health issues.

Saw purple early on, but only 3/4, so after a failure (using net instead of clef) I left it to the end.
