The New World pvp meta is shifting fast in 1.05. We’re seeing lots of mages and tanks aren’t as tanky anymore. The patch fixed broken mage abilities which made them more powerful.
If you were wondering what’s the strongest new world class / weapon, right now it’s starting to look like ranged DPS are suddenly much more valuable.

So since bugs/exploits got fixed now all of a sudden Mage is OP, okay lol. Let’s just nerf them now and then dexxers next.
Mages are supposed to do a lot of damage. If anything there should be a rogue build to counter the glass cannons, if not then that needs to be addressed..not I suck so we should nerf the class that’s actually working as intended.
People just got use to taking on so many enemies, mages are not OP. You cant just face tank a 4v1 anymore

A GAxe will wreck me in 3-4 hits, that's the trade off for being able to kite and do high DPS.
Why the hell should a GAxe be able to have stupid damage resistance, multiple speed perks passive/active, and be able to do massive burst damage?
GAxe users weren't saying crap about that prior to the bug fixes
can confirm Mages Op. My company took over a zone yesterday and it’s the fastest zone take in our server at 13mins with no bugs or exploits backing up either side. Like 5 best players on our faction and known across the server have been mages but now they are just crazy strong

Mage has always been good, people were just so stuck on using the bugged/meta weapons & armor for pvp that most people didn't even want to try something different. only 2% of players had maxed out the fire staff up till the other day lol.
Full dex bow still almost kill casters with one charged headshot.

you need like 20 autos to take him down

The meta is, run heavy, get all the mobility and all the damage. It's dumb af. Heavy needs to be penalized more because I'm not about this bunker nuke sh!t. I have 370 Dex, some int, and con, and I can't hit these tanks for more than 800-1.2k. Meanwhile they're zipping across the map and smacking me for 3k with a great axe. We shouldnt be forced into playing specific builds

Nothing against you but your usage of the warhammer is pretty bad. With the launch attack in the air you stun them which gives you enough time for a heavy attack on them and than use your second ability to clash them to the ground. You get a lot more dmg with stragey like that. Also use more heavy attacks instead of light attacks. the heavy attack pulls you to the target 1-2 meters. light attacks do not do that. I almost win every pvp match with the hammer. I am only afraid of the bow, berserker mode (anti cc) and othe warhammer users. I was mage before and actually it really sucked. The damage output of fire and ice wasnt that great especially in pve. Even now fire mages tell me like they make 4k dmg to enemys with 300 intelligence. I make 2,5k as a tank with 200 constituion….
I switched to fire staff with great axe for pvp and using sword and shield for 1v1 duels its working out pretty well
Good. I'm glad to see the pvp meta shift away from infinite CC chain (Great Axe + War Hammer) and other builds start to become strong.

There needs to be more ways to mitigate and cancel healing so that healing is nerfed but only for pvp. Also its odd axes have tracking but ranged dont? There should be tracking but only for when a player uses one of their super fast snap abilities

Yea on my server, a company called 123 (green) took over 6 territories in about a week, using mostly warhammer/great axe (hatchets last week when they were bugged), and little to no mages. Weird.
I feel that bows and muskets would generaly counter mages to a degree however bows and muskets kinda bad atm might be due to everyone using heavy armor making them bad though i think dex weapons need armor penetration on them, so dex weapons better agaist heavy armor as a counter to that and giving them a buff currently the underpowered weapons list normal are all the dex weapons lol

Waaa they fixed my broken perk and now im not as tanky and die waa nerf everything so i can be tanky and have enough dps and sustain to kill everything again only thing thats broken about mages is the ice gauntlet inf blocking if anything is a problem its heavy armour is 2 good nages dont die fast as they are all in heavy armour if they were in light or med they would be 1 or 2 shot so if anything fix the gear not nerf the weapons
