Strong storms and tornadoes hit parts of Iowa and Illinois, continuing a wave of severe and deadly weather. So far this year, an astounding 900 tornadoes have been reported. NBC News’ Maggie Vespa reports.

The power of the weather is well known, from a severe storm to a tornado to a hurricane to flash flooding, the results are often the same, destruction, becoming like a vicious animal that attacks. But what if the weather could be made docile, like a meek, little lamb, "that wouldn't hurt a flea", but is welcomed, then wouldn't that be the way to go ?

    Here is an example of when the weather was like an angry, violent person, when some men who were experienced fishermen on the Sea of Galilee, this trade most likely being handed down from father to son, of when Jesus apostles, such as Peter were going across the Sea of Galilee, when suddenly a storm arose that about to sink the boat, in which experienced fisherman Peter became frantic and ran over to where Jesus was sleeping in the stern of the boat, telling him that they were about to perish.

    Jesus then casually got up from his rest, and said to the storm: "Hush ! Be quiet !, so that in an instant of time, the storm abated and a great calm set in."(Mark 4:35-39) By this event, Jesus gave a preview of what will occur starting from the beginning of Jesus Millennial reign (Rev 20:4-6), when things change so much on the earth that even the weather will become like a lamb, something to really look forward to, such as a light shower of rain with soft breezes, instead of fearing the "heavy hand" of destructive winds, rain and hailstones.

    And that is exactly what a heavenly government called God's Kingdom will do (see Matt 6:10), but will add much more to its "agenda", such as first removing all wickedness from the earth, as Psalms 37:9, 10 states: "For evil men will be done away with, but those hoping in Jehovah (God's name, see Isa 12:2, KJV) will possess the earth. Just a little while longer, and the wicked will be no more; You will look at where they were, and they will not be there."

    Once this is accomplished, then Psalms 37:11, 29 can begin to be fulfilled: "But the meek will possess the earth (that is transformed into a paradise, see Luke 23:43), and they will find exquisite delight in the abundance of peace……forever." The "abundance of peace" includes taming the weather (as well as removing sin that leads to sickness and death, see Isa 25:6-10; Rev 21:3-5), so that the "meek" ones will rejoice when clouds come and rain arrives instead of cringing, "fearing the worse", whereby the weather will be a real friend of the "meek" forever.

  34. As severe weather continues to impacts new areas of the U.S. and around the globe, we all need to try and make better choices when we relocate our families to new areas. I like to think of this opportunities in moving to new areas as looking back at how settlers at the turn of the century would pick there areas to made a home. With this said it is always a good idea to look into areas that are stable and high like the the mountain areas away from flat land that will cause Tornadoes and coastal areas that will see repeated flooding. If we all use common sense and basic intelligence we can come up with an area were we can be as safe as possible to live out our lives. Thanks

  35. The U.S. continues to see tornadoes effecting areas of the U.S. that has never been seen before. These storms reaching further into the east then before places like Ohio Tenn. Kentucky Indiana just to name a few. And as time moves forward these weather patterns will continue to move out of there normal areas and into new territory. We all need to be vigilant and prepared for what is coming in the future

  38. I’m curious …since so much of America is prone, and always has been, to devastating tornadoes why isn’t every home built with a tornado proof bunker underground? Built so that it’s livable until their homes can be rebuilt. I realize that so many Americans live in trailers so they would need a place to go that’s tornado proof. I also know that the majority of Americans are very poor and couldn’t afford to build these bunkers but why doesn’t their govt supply the money to build them? My husband’s family came from America (Oklahoma) but moved to Canada before he was born but they still have a lot of family living down there. It’s so sad to see how they live! And they think they’re just as well off as the rest of America but realize when they come to Canada that they’re living like paupers. Everyone has always had jobs so it’s not like they don’t work. In fact there a couple of lawyers in the family! ….but my sister who is a lawyer here in Canada says she pays 10 times more in taxes each year than these American ‘lawyers’ make in a year! In fact as an accountant myself the ‘lawyer’ in America made 1/3 of what I do! I just don’t understand why so many Americans are so poor.
